The tap mate
There's 6 drippers surrounding the plants stalk
First year I've used tap water 100% usually I've got a full tank.of rainwater to start veg with but it's empty before summer started
Wen its 40 odd outside do you turn the drippas on for abit durin the day or late afternoon

When it's 30 plus they get a drink everyday
When it's 40 plus they get double the drink but always at the same time
Between 7pm-8pm at night
A big drink lately for the girls is the tap left on a full turn of the handle once and left for an hour
Its not exactly a tripper system it's free flowing
Next year I'll have a pump and 2000litre tank to start them off and will use that unless it's dry I'll use tap water
This is the first year in about 8 years I've used more than 50% tap water in my grow only cos I brought a new house
I try and use rainwater get to do my bit for the world but this season.it was unavoidable

My tank is chockas lately only cause the dogs have chewed the piping that runs off the side an back to the house twice after replacing it so i gave up on it.

I leave watering till late afternoon aswell only asked as thought soaking the mulch an top of the soil might help in coolin down the plants roots system abit wen the temps are pushin the mid 40's.

100l sounds like a fuk load but she is a big girl on a quess i reckon my plants probs get round the 20 litre per plant but its harder to estimate as most are in long trenches think i might have to up the amount they gettin a bit.

Buying the second property and having no water storage there put me behind the 8ball although now I have brought a pump n tank

If the plants are straight in the ground heavy watering daily when temps above 35 they drink the lot and want more

If you want cheap rainwater storage, then IBC's are the way to go. You can often pick them up for $50-$100 apiece. Much cheaper than buying a proper water tank. Even if they've had something unpleasant in them, they can be cleaned & rinsed-out a few times to get rid of the crap. I've got a mate that works for a food manufacturer that buys their liquid ingredients in bulk, so I get them for nothing  & they're food grade, so no problems at all.

They're stackable to reduce the footprint if you're short on space & can be daisy-chained with a few plumbing fittings.

The black ones are best (if you can find them - they'll be more expensive), but if all you can get are the white ones, you can get covers to protect them from UV like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cover-Sun-protective-hood-for-rain-water-tank-1000-liters-IBC-container-foil-new/143342340989?hash=item215fde8b7d:g:yUsAAOSw~hpdP-HZ&frcectupt=true

The only problem for us all right now down South is having the actual rainfall to fill them....>:(

there ok to have arround there not muh chop for water storage, tho 1000 ltr at $100 bucks, is the same as 2300 bucks for 23000 ltrs and no cover req but a proper rain tank

beernuts uses 100l a day on one plant, if hes got 5 plants, he'd be fucked pretty fast in like two days, what do ya want him to do buy twenty pods for two grand or just get the real thing for arround the same money
would look a bit sus haveing a tonne of water pods kicking arround going green in a week or two unless covered

Mines a concrete 10,000 gallon tank. Normally full in November it wasnt. Sits at 1/2 full. I run everything off it. Might have to buy water in this year for the first time ever if we dont get a nice few days of actual rain.
