i altered it a bit for myself due to my grow space
the whole hosing setup is mounted to a thick sheet of ply and i made a lil grow table. after mounting the hosing to the top, i screwed 4 legs to each corner. i use the same concept when it comes to the feeder hoses, altho where the main hose (direct from res) splits to the 4 buckets, i have the T fitting thru a hole in the ply straight down into the reservoir.
Doing it this way, i thought would make the drainage flow a lil easier. Also it saves me a bitta floor space with the buckets directly above the reservoir.
i havent gotten as far as installing the drainage holes and hoses because i dont have flexible hosing..i only have some 13mm hosing from Bunnings and it doesnt bend so well. But anyway, the drainage hoses are simply going to go straight over the side of my DIY grow table and into the reservoir. My main feeder hose has to be flexible hosing too because im gonna have to pull the res out every now n then to check ph n ppm
for myself, i wont need the table ready for about a month or so. So im not in any rush at the moment to finish it.
Hope its not too confusing but hope it helps
let me know how you go with that skiz because im looking to switch to dwc soon and can learn from youhmmm looks like ill need to become a member so i can see the pics. Thanks for that mate, ill be sure to join em tomorrow when i get home and have a looksee. Gonna fuck around in CAD for a while and draw up my setup this time.....what cna i say im "special" and pretty pictures amuse me
Thanks once again for that link mate. Once i manage to figure out how the hell the whole setup works ill be sure to comment on your design. Till then i have no idea, but it sounds like you know what your doing lol.
LMAO while ill gladly keep you posted mate i think you may want to look at someone with more experience on the matter lol.let me know how you go with that skiz because im looking to switch to dwc soon and can learn from you
your after a sativa then ditch the indicasgrrrr not liking white rhino. Its good to help get to sleep but it just knocks me on my fkn ass. Need some strains that get me high not stoned. Any suggestions?
I was looking at Sensi seeds Jack herer (after strain mans posts i have been having wet dreams) but they sell for a couple hundred pound!!!
i wouldnt even worry about the drip lines just yet if its your first dwc grow , your plants will only take a week until the roots hit the water so i would just handfeed until then and also if your using a drip then your going to need a water pump aswell as the airpump, i dont even use the buckets either i prefer to just buy 1 50litre tub and put 3 feminized seeds in.LMAO while ill gladly keep you posted mate i think you may want to look at someone with more experience on the matter lol.
The way i see it is:
Res > pump > drippers at the top of the net basket > this manages to water the roots but allows PLENTY of oxygen to them as they are essentially exposed to air 24/7 > flows down into your grow bucket > gets sucks back into res
Thats what i seem to have gathered from the setups.
HOWEVER i quite prefer the idea of an airstone to bubble the roots instead of dripping as to me it just seems like a better idea. Not to mention i have read that water pumps are quite noisy and also seem to heat the water up. Gahhhhh so much to understand before i can take the first step into planning. I guess the good thing is i have HEAPS of irrigation shit so im hoping i can save a lot there. That said its all the 25mm black poly and 13mm drip so not sure how it will all go.
EDIT:
ok so i watched a few vids and it seems i was almost right in my first explanation.
res > pump > drip onto each plant > drains through the bottom back into res BUT each bucket has an airstone aswell.
I guess the only thing i cant seem to work out is if the pump is in the res and your feeding from the top of the bucket how can you control the outlet pipes back into the res? Is it based on just gravity then use a combination of butterfly valves to control speed?
Think I posted in your thread I looked it up a little more if they are over halfway your generally fine seems to be ~16hrs of daylight for the hormones to change back to veg. mine on the other hand (finish in 2 weeks or so) are loving the extra daylight looking to harvest a little more than expected.i posted this in the outdoor section but coouldnt get a reply so i thought i would try my luck here.
i vegged some plants indoor on 24/0 for a month and put them outside to flower about 14 days ago, there doing really well and flowering nicely. right now there is 12 hours from first light to last light. but by the time they will be finished flowering it will hit 13 hours and 40 minutes(approx oct 10). so do u guys think my plants will be fine or will i need to put a bag over them for an hour? indoor ive started flowering after a month with 13/11 and getting good result but im not sure how 13h40m will go. im running canna boost in them (they claim to knock off 1 week off the flowering time) just to hurry them up. i cant bring them inside caz there in 115 litre grow bags
ok so i joined that sight and had a look. It all makes alot more sense now. You need an airstone in every bucket (im still not sure if ill go single buckets or large tub) then have a feed from the res at the bottom with an overflow pipe slightly higher up to flow back into the res.maybe a photo tomoro if ya want SKIZ but cbf right now
I got a few tubes from a fishing tank and was going to supplement them into my indoor grow before being busted I am curious about this too a plant supposedly develops more trichomes due to UV light, a mate of mine reckons he's grown with almost all UV light and a few CFL's haven't seen the results but apparently it's pretty good. Still just like weightlifting every second person is looking to blow smoke up your ass with there achievements.ok so i joined that sight and had a look. It all makes alot more sense now. Sounds like this is the same setup you have too but slightly modified to have the res below rather than off to the side. How many L's is the res? For say 4x10L buckets would be a good size to have?
ON a side note. Anyone experimented with UV lights and growing? A few sources say that THC is like a suncream for the plants and therefore increases with high levels of UV whilst other sources say its detrimental to the plant. Experiences or just your own two cents on the matter would be good thanks, as i have a heap of unused 4 foot fluro batterns i can use for the UV lights if they any good
thanx mate just the info i was looking for. ive got another batch outside that will be ready in 3 weeks, your right about loving the extra light they are doing really well. do u have yours in a greenhouse?Think I posted in your thread I looked it up a little more if they are over halfway your generally fine seems to be ~16hrs of daylight for the hormones to change back to veg. mine on the other hand (finish in 2 weeks or so) are loving the extra daylight looking to harvest a little more than expected.

4th September 2010
A FORMER helicopter pilot who maintained a hydroponic cannabis crop has avoided a jail term but copped a significant fine for his part in the crime.
Steven Robert Scotney, of Toowoomba, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to possessing and producing dangerous drugs and receiving tainted property
Police attended a Bucca farm part-owned by Scotney on April 16, after they had tracked a GPS device in a stolen generator.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens said officers noticed a suspicious-looking shed that had no windows, with air-conditioning and ducts protruding from the outside walls.
Scotney and his co-accused were held while police entered the shed, where they found a “sophisticated hydroponic set-up” with 128 marijuana plants that ranged in size from 5cm to 50cm.
Sgt Stevens said the plants were in starter pots and that fertiliser, empty pots and a watering system were found.
Defence lawyer Christine Delaney said her client had suffered from depression after a workplace accident in which he fractured his spine in 2001.
She said Scotney’s role in the operation was to maintain the plants.
Ms Delaney said the defendant had been attending Drugarm in Toowoomba to help with his drug issues.
Magistrate Neil Lavaring fined Scotney $1200.
I guess it pays to check equipment over for GPS devices if you have intentions of knocking off gear for a growPolice attended a Bucca farm part-owned by Scotney on April 16, after they had tracked a GPS device in a stolen generator.
i bet my lucky stars he snitched, 128 plants and just a fine. i would deff be watching my back if i was him.yeah man this guy just got a slap on the wrist for all those plants 128 and only $1200? shit i'd pay that fine on the spot and be on with it
Before you go there why not go to Christine Delaney first?....she managed to get him off for 128 plants which is about 32x the amount majoirty of us grow. My guess is snitch or former copper pilot (which was already suggested) or hey maybe this Christine chic has a set of knockers like no others?if i got caught with 128 plants i know where i'll be going.....JAIL
