Word to that. Drugs are the ONLY thing that could possibly make that shit even remotely engaging. Try listening to it "unenhanced" & it's just a fucking aural jackhammer produced by some kid in his bedroom on a computer (ie. no musicianship required).
 
i need to like the drummer and guitarist in a band and understand the different Attitude to playing, before i'll like a band

not just listening to 2 hours of Armin Van buuren

I totally abhor doof-doof, but this is worth the effort of listening-to, but you'll have to give it more than 30 seconds.......:

Admittedly, this isn't the studio version & there are REAL musicians involved in this performance.

Maybe I just shot myself in the foot there......? I can't help loving live performances.

It's in 6/4....

I always get confused when people say stuff like this. No musicianship, boring, kids in bedrooms etc. I grew up on punk before discovering warehouse parties in the 90s. They were some special times and amazing music and sure lots of drugs but drugs are fun arent they?

Yep, I feel exactly the same way about that track.

I can just appreciate the 6/4 computer programming by the originator (Simon Posford) for going away from the standard 4/4 Doof & using his brain to do it. This is the track that follows it on the original album:

It's in 7/4

The one that precedes it is in 5/4

5/6/7, get it?
 
I haven’t read all the posts yet but get the jist. @Rewerb, this is one of my all time favourite electronic compositions. Please listen to it and tell me there’s no “musicianship” in this. It starts at 54secs.

Ma chere........ THANK YOU but our musical tastes differ enormously. Yes, I listened to it in full, but couldn't get past the hip-hop beat/bass-line to be sufficiently engaged with it otherwise.

A live band definitely carries more energy live on stage. The best i have ever seen live was nick cave and the bad seeds.

Just because i like doof doof doesnt mean i cant appreciate other styles of music.

Idk I’ve seen some good bands on stage including Metallica, linkin park, cold chisel etc but none have come close to the energy that art vs science bought to the stage at big day out. There set was literally the best live music experience I’ve ever had completely sober. The only thing better was Taylor swifts 1989 concert in Sydney while balls deep on acid, that was fucking heaven.

I have seen art vs science a fair few times. They do do a mean live show. Homebake was rhe forst time i saw them. On eof their first big shows and it went off

I’ve seen them twice. Groovin and bdo. The BDO set they absolutely killed to the point I thought red hot chilli peppers was meh afterwards.

House of pain at groovin was also hectic to mosh in. Jump around live was lit as
