Aussie Growers Thread

I tried some Blue cheese a while ago MH and fuck me it was good stuff!!!!


On a related note....related being weed, i was looking at making a little cloning/ready to put in tent cupboard and i made my little 8 light holder. It runs on 4 switches and each switch operates two lights. This means i can fire 2, 4, 6 or 8 lights depending on my needs. That said what brand and type of light should i get? If they are energy saving ones will it make a difference? I saw some phillips that were 24W and APPARENTLY that equals 125W but im not sure? Phillips comes in warm day or cool day and im assuming the cool is for veg?

Phillips 24w cool daylight bulbs will do the trick - pity you have bayonet mount sockets or I would try to unload my bulbs.

I only use one CFL now (occasionally) and that is just for striking clones - everything else is LED.

You will probably get away with 4 bulbs in your rig, should be enough for cloning vegging.

O its ok, if its only 4 or so lights that shouldnt cost too much anyway. I think they $7 each at woolies but ill try light up Aus and bunnings tomorrow. I also got a UV light for shits and giggles to play with. Not good for a bedroom ill tell you that.....

LED?!?!?!?! Damn getting a lil tricky now arnt we? How much was your LED setup? I was looking into it a while ago but they seemed so expensive and only good for small plants as the Lumans aight enough for penetration?

Cheers buddy, I use one bayonet as the "junction box" for the other to hook onto, then just feed that "circuit" into the switch. The switchs are then all fed by the common power lead. I got it checked by my mate whos a sparky and he assured me the wiring was ok :)

Ill use it for clones, but its mainly to keep my SMALL plants (SLH, G13, WR and A bubblegum) under control while i flick the switch on my other girls for flower. That way i used the MH to get some decent growth and now just the CFL to maintain it and in doing so those roots should grow up too so when i plant they have a GREAT start :)
 
I've grown blue cheese and it was a nice smoke, but my particular strain was an extremely leafy strain.... It was a PAIN IN THE ARSE to trim, I got rid of the mother and wont grow it again... Too labour intensive.. :-)

Gypsy is the fastest (by my account) 2 days if ordered at night to your door.

Yer attitude was 3 days i think. Herbies is a slow one, but i like trading with them still :)

Also, anyone heard of JX13? Its a Jack Herer crossed with a G13. Im growing both (Well a Jock Horror Auto) as we speak so might try cross them myself. Its meant to be a fucking amazing smoke though :)
