Hi everyone, im having a heating issue I hope someone can help with.
The light is running from 5pm intil 11am everyday, and for the most part the temps average around 24 to 28c however as sooon as it hits around 10am the temps are rising up to around 32. and today even reach 34c. As soon as 11 hits and the light goes out it drops by 5c within minutes.
I have been tossing around a few ideas, and wandering should I open the tent at 9.30-10am and put the pedestal fan on pointing at the tent, I know it will reduce the temp but will leak light.
The other idea I had was to adjust the hours so the light goes off at 10, and on at 4, however the afternoon sun is what hits the shed, so I worry by doing that I will still have the same issue, but in the afternoon instead.
What do you all think??
Hey Ozzy, Here's my 0.2 worth....
I just bought a cooltube set up as i too am having heat probs in my 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m tent, running 600W MH/HPS
My tent has 2 x 6" outlets (1 x up top, 1 x down below) and one 6-10" outlet (up top) it also has 3 long passive vents down the bottom...
Heres what i was going to do, my first idea was to use my portable a/c system to blow through my lower 6" intake vent, but after speaking with Laceygirl after her dilema i decided that it wasnt an option as i know they run fairly loudly. 52db it measured
so today i rang Shalye from discount hydro supplies and got my self an extra fan, a cool tube and some duct. i want to keep my existing intake fan doing its job (just sucking in fresh air) For the sake of an extra $135, i cant go wrong!
My other 6" exhaust fan (up top) i will hook upto some duct then to my cool tube then through some more duct, it will be sucking in from one of my long retangular vents down below, i will be doing this as i want fresh cooler air running through my cool tube and past my lamp, i could just leave the tube open one ended but then it would be warmer air from inside the tent that its pulling and then i would also have to filter out the smell, running an extra piece of duct from the open end of the cool tube to a fresh air supply will eliminate me having to filter it.
IE: now my cooltube and lamp set up is totally sealed off from the tents atmosphere, all its doing now is providing the light--which is what i wanted in the first place---not the heat from it!
I will make up a cardboard tranistion from the round piece of duct to the rectangular vent, this way my spare fan and my spare 6-10" vent hole can be used for my carbon filter set up!
When the stuff arrives i will set it up and post some pics for you in my thread, as i know you are running a very similar set up.
....Till then
