I might be having a blonde moment here, but I've been trying to set-up a tent this arvo to get stuff on the go for this year's OD season.

Is there a simple way to suspend HID lights that's escaping me? I've only used LED's until this point, but have gone 600W HID because of the heat they generate during winter. This is what I've got:

The only way I can see is to get something like this from Bunnings to go through the 6mm holes in the top of the light fitting so I can suspend it using ratchet cords:

Is there a simpler solution or something fundamental I'm missing here? My flame-suit is on.......

Ok cool man really appreciate the advice.
I hit the aks with some nitrate like 8 granules to a litre checked ec. .8 yesty they look nice an green.
5 mls of that cal mag is like half a litre to 100 litres?
That correct so id be using round 4 litres a feed.

it’d be more effective if you don’t add it to your res but instead mixed and sprayed it separate 1-2 times a week. Also you wouldn’t use/waste fuck all that way. It’s not really designed for root feeding, how much cal/mag do you normally add?

bend the tabs out and connect the ratchet straps to the light.

Jumping on in here, Aussie grower. Got a few strains growing along quite well right now, some freaks, some beauties, some monsters. On my second grow this year. This one will be interesting, not much vertical growth, she's in a 300mm pot and stretching her limits at 15 days since I opened the pack of seeds (13 since germ). Platinum Og.

That was another thought I had, but wondered if I'd just end-up with snapped-off tabs & no other way of attaching suspension. All good, I've now got things in situ:

Next step is to figure-out a recirculating F&D system much like @klx using fabric pots & coco, rather than hydroton balls. I'm liking the idea of automation in future.....DSCN2564.JPG

yeah buy a sprayer from Bunnings and give them a good drink with it, they’ll love you for it. Otherwise that number looks pretty spot on For 100l. Could maybe go a bit higher
How much a litre foliar what the nitrate or the cal mag?

Coco and fabric pots work with F&D but I dont like how wet and soggy and algae covered the fabric pots get. Also you need really good quality coco for recirculating. The Bunnings stuff wont work even if you really flush it.

Aha! That's a point I hadn't considered.

Is algae REALLY a problem, or just something you don't particularly like dealing-with?

Never seen any real impact in terms of weight or quality but makes it hard to reuse the fabric pots. They also get salt build up on them, but all mediums and pots do but they get it particularly bad imo. Use them if you got them though they work well and no dramas with coco escaping out hte drainage holes

They’re designed to be bent up. Not designed to be Bent up and down repeatedly though.
