Hey yo

These are my plants :D

Need a little help, i tried to supercrop the top of this plant and i think it snapped... will she recover or should i attempt to clone the top and let the rest grow naturally?

Any advice would be good
I really don't have a green thumb :)

Hmmm thats a hard one. I would think aero would be safer to cool your water because you cool the water in a different res to what the roots are sitting in thus not exposing them to - degree temps if your putting ice in the res of DWC but aero also has a higher chance of killing your plants if your pump stops for some reason. Have you thought about trying to cool the air that your pumping into your DWC instead of cooling the water i see a few advantages of cooling the air 1 being that the cool air entering will cool your water and the 2nd being that cooler air in denser meaning that it will be holding more O2 when it enters your water and delivering it to your roots and one would think that would speed up growth ?

I have seen devices that you put in the water and it either heats or cools it to a set temp..any one seen these..??.. I'm thinking something like that would be gr8 for my res...
I'm still hand watering because if the heat comes bak my plants would b fuked up if they were pugged into the res.......

Yeah these were the main considerations I raised in my question, however I didnt really consider cooling the air as I cant think of any cheap way of doing this that is an effective as ice in the water.

Cavechest some constructive criticism for you brother:

1) Youre lights are too far away from your plants. 2" is as much gap as you need or want between your CFLs and your plants unless youre using the 100W+ CFLs (big mothers)
2) More light is emitted from the side of the CFL than the end so they should be horizontal to your plants
3) Clean that grow area up! Youre asking for nasties with open entry to your reservoir and dead plant matter/other shit littering your grow area

Obviously theres a lot more you could be doing, but those are 3 easy things to fix right now that will help your plants health in the short and long term

And not really constructive but more just info, those plants look very sativa, which is the last thing you want growing in your wee aerogarden. It'll still work, but they ideally need more time/space to grow, and the AG isnt really condusive to either of those things. Dont be discouraged though, they'll sill give you some smoke.

Unfortunately i cant get my hands on Indica seeds but will keep searching.
And bringing the lights closer isn't really an option, the rig is fairly stone age. It's recycled from a rocket i made in year 10 so the lights are either gonna be too close or not close enough, and i figured burning them was the last thing i wanted.

But cleaning up i can do :D

as for the cooling, you can buy a coil that sits in ur res and the good ones can drop it 10C from abient(if i remember correctly), but alas i dont know where to get one from australia, also when i was checking out shroomery a while ago i saw somone had taken apart a fridge and used the cooling elements on a thermostat to cool their fruiting room but this looked like a god damn lot of work, and i think u need old skool fridges.

personally id just go DWC and go the 1.25 shweps bottles or something similar but this is an opinion and does not house much fact

Looks like u did it wrong..
Most ppl think u just bend the plant over to supercrop. You actual have to have method to the madness, or else u will ruin ur plant.
When doing it, you have to do it at the node. Grab the 'knuckle', squeeze it with ur thumb and pointer finger, and then bend it over whilst squeezing it.

Doing it this way allows the minor breaks to occur inside of the knuckle, which is like a jacket to hold it all together whilst it heals in its new position..

lol i was thinking of something like an intercooler for a turbocharged car to cool your air :P or heatsinks like what they put on overclocked computers ?

mmm ok, but i didn't see THAT on the news lol all i saw was a pet shop up in whoopdedoo got done with over a million in weed. now green aint like the other drugs, takes a lot to equal a million lol fuckers. tryin to make it a dry christmas, well i for one wont have it lol i'll fly to cali and get a frickin medical license before i have a sober christmas day with my family

im really wacked and a bit pissed.... but what do u guys think about putting these frozen bottles in an air tight plastic bag just in the grow space(people working in small spaces) to cool the tempratures down a bit... its simple thermal law, the hot air used to melt the ice will be cooled


and the plastic bag over the bottle is mainly in my head for flowering to stop the RH going through the roof

this could only be used be people running small grow areas and preferably with a cool tube so not as much of the air is removed.... i dont know.. like i said im a bit wacked.... might do some tests when i move

I have tried this, it doesnt work when using 600w lights, im my room, 4 x 2 litre bottles of coke melt within 1 hour, I was having the fan blow air on them, if you have a consistent supply of bottles even then it doesnt really work, might work with clfs. I got 1 of those window air-cons, not one of those portable ones, they are jsut rubbish.:bigjoint:
