Aussie Growers Thread

G'day G'day.... Happy Australia Day People... Feeling very patriotic today, and so it the rest of my town....

Just got back from the pool... :smile: Keep singing the old Weetbix ad, Aussie Kids are Weetbix kids, Aussie Kids are weetbix Kids....:lol:

Today I feel the urge to crank up Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Men at Work and some other top, old Australian bands......Shall do so when my youngest wakes up....:wall:

Going to throw a big piece of steak on the bbq tonight... Nice crisp cold salad... Bloody beautiful....

hey there just wondering if someone can give me some advice l live in seaford victoria and l want 2 grow one plant if l was to get caught does anybody no wat would happen to as lm on a suspended sentence and if l commit an offence that carrys a jail term l have to serve time but l just thought l might only get a fine for growing one plant hope someone can help me thanx.
 
I'm no legal buff, but from a number of experienced people I have heard that between 6-8 plants is when things get serious. 1 plant grow in soil outside would surely not result in jail time, I highly doubt you'd even get a record, but I have no idea what a cop would do if they found the plant and saw you were on a suspended sentence. They wouldn't be worried about the quantity, but an over zealous copper might push the envelope just to teach you a lesson.. And that would suck balls.

In the end what's the point of growing 1 plant? I advise you don't grow indoors, as simply having the setup could be enough reason for them to think you're intent on producing/selling.

really? a suspended sentence means any further offence will put you in jail. you don't get fined, you don't get cautioned, you pass go and don't collect any good things.

you can only breach the suspended sentence if the crime u commit is punishable bye jail time if it is only a fine for growing 1 plant l wont be breaching my suspended sentence if that makes sence

guys i live around berwick "vic" and my ph pen is saying the tap water is 6.1 is this possible ? i allways thought vic tap water was neutral + ?also to make things worse i got 2 different solutions from 2 different hydro stores to callibrate my pen to 7.0 and one comes up 6.0 and then other 6.8 lol... keep in mind i allready callibrated it to the 6.0 one first

pH pens are notoriously inaccurate, the best way still is to use a fish tank indicator kit... Just buy the cheap one with solution... It never gets it wrong... As long as your pH is around 6.0 you wont have issues, you only want to lower it if you are growing with Canna products they work best at 5.6-5.8, hydro set ups like a low pH also ... Seedlings need a low pH too, but other wise 6.0 is good... The more yellow the solution is after you test the better it is... Don't go too balistic with pH down, its still an acid... I live in NSW/ACT and the pH here is around 7.0...:-( I use pH down all the time, I also use lots of airstones it affects the pH...
 
how can u compare a test kit to a ph pen thats accurate upto a 0.02 ph ? and i find that unless u have a really good eye matching skills your never gonna get it to the point u want it
 
another question would i be helping my plants alot by buying some water condtitioner ? they use it to make the metals good for fish or something ?

My girls are finally startin to flower yew! Cant help but get excited at this time.

I cant believe i havent had a single spider-mite this entire time but as soon as they start flowerin-here they come,hopefully me spray takes care of em before they really start buddin.

Does someone go round probing the soil next to each plant in the world to make sure it's ph is accurate to within 0.02? Weed will happily grow in ph between 5.5 and 6.5 approx, and I've grown without pH down/test kit which meant pH was around 7.. Plants were fine. You simply don't need to be that accurate with your pH, though fine tuning can help.

I can eyeball colours without a problem to within around 0.5 of actual I'd say, and the fact I haven't had a ph problem backs that up. Pens take out the guesswork and as has now been said a few times they are most accurate.. But just look at your current issue; your ph is out by around 1 whole point, and your only way of know is because you're clever enough to recognize that your tap water ph can't be that low.

Seems to me you should recalibrate in the ph 7 fluid and try again.

I can't get freaking pics from my phone to my comp, stupid iPhone is recognize in iTunes and not in windows. Reinstalled drivers and software and tried a few different tricks, even resorting to restoring factory settings in the phone... Nothing! And now I have to jailbreak again and get all my apps back - and it means my computer is fucking up AGAIN even on windows 7.
