Water always finds its own level. If properly daisy chained it will act like a conveyor belt and rapidly equalize. Once the roots hit the water you don't really need to top feed anyway. I use the 13mm system to circulate water, not feed. They get all the moisture they need from the popping bubbles underneath. 19mm hose is more than enough for the job unless you are thinking of going commercial skiz.

For a cabinet that small you will only need an intake fan with a passive exhaust (holes at the top). I grew in a closet without ventilation, 2 x 400w HPS's and still managed to pull a pound every 12 weeks.

hmm i might try this for my veg cab
would the holes be ok to be on the back wall but at the very top as i still want it to look like a fridge and well if ya can see holes in its roof you might start think hmm i dont think thats a fridge lol

Yeah that sounds about right I could vent my cabinet with 2 80mm computer fans on 18v's.

This chest freezer will be buried and disguised so it is not visible unless you know where it is so I have put holes in the bottom and will be connecting poly pipe up to vent it into a pile of scrap pipe on my property, I intend to put in some ducting so the exhaust draws from the top of the cabinet. In that case I'll need a fan that can draw likely a centrifugal fan I have a 12v one that is suitable but is a bit on the too powerful side. More wondering some good places to pick a fan up or online distributors to purchase one from.

Is it better to Daisy or run seperate? I was thinking the Quad outlet feed all four containers and then with that 500L/Hr pump hook up two 4 ways as such so that it travels down the main then breaks off into its own little pots. That way i can easiy mix and match pots and it shoudl theoretically give the most even feed/temps as the plants all get the feed at the same time rather than travelling through each bucket...Hope that makes sense.

As for the 19mm yer my bad on the size there lol. 25mm is inch type stuff and thats massive. I meant to say standard 19mm which is just any old irrigation line. Got shit loads of it as been running that and 13mm drip throughout the backyard and you tend to have aLOT of spare when doing it for an acre of land lol.

Have you seen those "Endless Staircase" pot base setups in some hydro stores now? Supposedly the water just flows around by its self. They want $230 for a 4 plant system but I'm sure I can make one myself with some left over pavers and mice.

hahahah if thats a joke its hard to tell on the net, because i dont possibly see how that could even work?!!?!??!


On a side note, poor plants been getting fried!!!! My temp was at 33C just now (7:30pm) and it has a peak of 40.1C!!!! Ive now switched my light cycle around so that i got it on during the night and off during the day. After exams light proofing is in order as i got WAY to many cracks in my build for light to escape from. Myler or panda film?

3 days for gypsy for me, 4 days for dope seeds and a week and a free shirt from seedsman, planet skunk is highly reccomended as is harveys seed (?) a few pages back all have a large selection of seeds and a lots of cheapies.

Panda film or dimpled mylar are the go.

I use panda film on the walls with strategically placed reflective "coreflute" panels to light up any dark areas underneath.
 
skiz a couple of posts you were talking about air pumps i checked google when i did my shopping and came across a online aquarium shop and they have some pretty sweet prices i bought a new air pump when i bought my two hydor air pumps and it was like 15 bucks with a year warranty i check ebay all the time but things seem to be really dear on there (plus you dont know whos watching your purchases)

Ok sweet i prefer the cost of panda, as it must cover a 2x2x2 tent (i think thats the rough dimensions of it) but i built it myself outta pine and MDF so the panels were to large for me to work with by myself and made a real dogs breakfast out of it and have sooooo many leaks. I think i must add some ducting in there too for my exhaust fan.

Atm the "tent" is in a shed and temps are wayyyyyy to hot. I have a small little fan in there blowing at the girl to make her stem strong and got a 200mm exhaust fan for a bathroom, i also switched my lights to come on during the night now instead....any other ways to reduce temps or is high 30's ol as long as i keep the mositure up? Ill be transplanting her into a DWC in a week or so time anyway so will be CONSTANTLY hydrated.


O i also saw your DWC journal and saw you use those rubber mats.....i guess they would help seems how the pots are on a nice cold concrete floor lol.

HOWEVER i have always wondered if it would be good to have reflective material on the floor to reflect it back at the plant? This would mean hitting the underside of the leaf and im not sure if this would do more damage than good?

how are you guys combatting the heat?? Im doing an outdoor shed grow and it just gets so hot in there. (im talking 35+). im thinking of running a small portable aircon unit out there, but dont want a huge power bill!!!!

thoughts?

about to start my second grow with 5x nirvana bubbleicious, and 10 freebies, sam the skunkman's original haze x skunk 1 (heard GREAT things about this strain).

You will not get it cool without Ac and the way power costs are going things do not bode well for you. Also where'd you get the skunkmans stuff I've read many of those seeds are ~15-20 years old and I have had 3 sprout of 20 and only one have enough gusto to break the skin on the seed after cracking and putting out a taproot.
 
Just ordered some Barneys G13. Tad expensive but o well, if they work out like i hope they should it will be money well spent :)


EDIT: Just worked out prices to build a 4 pot r/DWC system.....roughly $250 :( ...While this is probably loose change to alot of the systems you guys build, for a student its alot lol.

Was thinking to save some money just for now would running a good heavy duty air pump into a massive tub with say 2-3 plants in it work ok? I would run a 13 or 19mm hose with a tab to drain it periodically and then can expand on the exact same system later when more mula arrives. The cost is mainly due to EC/PH pens not to mention the pumps ($50 for air and $50 for water) and connectors and reducers, etc.
 
anyone ever recieved an oder after 14days ? i orderd some seeds on the 1st of nov , something tells me there not comming.ive never had seeds arrive after the 9 day mark

ALSO, i was checking on my plant, and accidently hit the cable to the ballast out. It turned off the light and about 30seconds later i plugged it back in......now it wont turn on. No obvious damage to the light (doesnt look as if its actually blown unless im missing something)
This sound more ballast issue or globe issue? I unplugged it again to box the ballast up and in doing so touched the power cable terminals whilst unplugged and it still zapped me (the male adaptor that you plug into the wall) I also replaced the fuse on the ballast.

If it sounds globe related, i was looking at buying a sunmaster 600W Dual spectrum light anyway. Anyone have experience with them?
 
agh fuck!!! Well it still wont turn on, so i might take the globe to the shop tomorrow and see. I HOPE the globe is the problem as wouldnt hurt to try this dual light anyway. But a broken ballast would piss me off. Its still under warrenty though :)

Damn they looking good odlaw. What strain?
