auto flower help!!!

i am growing dinafem critical mass auto outdoors it sprouted 29 days ago and is about 18in tall and is in a one gallon pot. its nearing the end of its second week of flowering. my soild is a mix of compost, kelp, blood and bone meal. the problime is that the lowest set of fan leaves started to turn yellow about a week and a half- two weeks ago and now the next set up from tgem seems to be yellowing also....is this a problem or is it normal for a plant at that stage of development to start turning yellow from the bottom u??? also on the sixteenth i planted mutiple strains of autoflowers. white cheese, road runner, pak ryder, and cheese.....is it to late in the summwr to get another harvest or will the plants do just fine? any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, it's never normal for plants to start showing signs of deficiencies, or lockout before late flowering. I would guess it's a PH problem as the soil mix you used has slow release ferts. How are you checking your PH? Check the runoff PH of on of your plants. ALWAYS start diagnosing at PH. If PH is spot on you may need to start feeding your plants. As they begin to flower they need more nutrients. I don't think there is a soil out there that can REALLY take a plant from seedling to harvest without ANY added feeds for flower with spectacular results. I could be wrong as I don't grow much in soil. With most soil you will have to start feeding during flower. If it does turn out that your ph runoff is spot on go and get some nutes, and they should perk up. Look into top dressings to use. Sounds like they want nitrogen although magnesium is more common and doesn't show up until the first few weeks of flower.

thanks. i really appreciate the info. if it is PH is there anyway to correct it with such a short time till harvest and if so what do u suggest as far as products for changing soil PH quickly???? thanks for ur help

Yes, you've got plenty of time to pull off a good run. It's not hard to correct PH. Get a PH meter. You want it somewhere between 6.2-6.5. So if the PH was 7 you would want to use PH down to lower a 5 gallon bucket of water to 5.8 -6.0 and run it through until the runoff is within the correct range. If the ph was 5.5 you would want to use a higher ph watering like 7.0 to bring the ph up within range. Repeat for a few waterings until the PH is where it should be.

Ph of run off was 6.4 and watered with 6.9 ph water and been feeding around once a week starting at the begining of the flower phase. I have been using fox farm grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom and have been feeding according to the foxfarm feeding scedule. Figured i would let u know that the ph appears to be in range and i have been feeding them regularly. I just dont understand the yellow lower leaves. Oh yeah nutrient solution ph is 6.3 any other ideas?

Do you water in between feeds? If not it could be a buildup of salts in the medium. If you've been feeding once a week without watering in between you probably need to flush. Many people flush every two weeks to ward off salt buildup.
