Auto flower stem snapped

So I was trying to LST my critical xxl auto and I went a bit rough I guess and snapped one of the side branching stems of the main one. I hurried up and put that auto electrical tape and a zip tie and it's pretty sturdy at this point. She's about in her 3rd to 4th week of flower.

My question: has anyone ran into this and will my yield be affected. Will the plant try and herm on me? This would be my third grow and never experienced a herm but I never snapped a stem either. I honestly should have just let her be she's so big and beautiful lol.

Any pointers?

Shouldn't cause any hermaphrodite issues. It will either heal and you'll see new growth and green leaves on it or it will wilt and brown fairly quickly. Not much of a middle ground with stem breaks. I've had almost every one I've taped and supported stay healthy.

Ive had several stem breaks and a main stalk split in half. All healed after taping them. Did I suffer in yield, who knows. They all turned out great and got a lot of people stoned.

Yeah I guess I just waited a bit too long to train and tried to just bend some branches a bit for some more light penetration. She's huge still and as of now nothing has changed . I watered her and this happened about 8 hours ago. When would I see deteriorating of the plant?

Well the auto is about 4 weeks into flower. The buds are starting to stack. So I shouldn't worry about nanners or anything right? Taped her up I think pretty good as I can move the pot around without the branch bending or anything.

Idk I just was worried because this will be my first very successful grow ...but I got overzealous in wanting more bud lol but like someone else said I guess time will tell.

If you mended her shortly after it happened you will be fine. You may see some wilt, but that will go away as she recovers. Like any major stress, it takes a little time to get back ti normal.

If you get nanners it's from genetics or light leaks most times. Too much light or heat can be a factor as well. I've personally never seen or heard of a branch throwing nuts or nanners from a stem break. That doesn't mean it's not possible, just that it's not common if it does happen. I break branches doing supercropping all the time and just use some painters tape on the break if it's really bad. Most times I just stick a bamboo stake in the pot and support it with a pipe cleaner or piece of garden wire until it's healed.

Wow. Lol. So if I'm not mistaken that's called High stress training? Where you literally snap branches...damn. balls of steel haha. I suppose I have nothing to worry about then if you do this. Does that increase yields in your experience?

It helps me keep the canopy flat so all the tops are even. That in turn let's me hit the most buds with the most light. Here's some pics of the healed break and the canopy.

I've tried using a scrog net but not being able to move the plants around to check for pests and mold was inconvenient for me. I like taking them out of the tent to really be able to inspect them. It's also free because there's no tools needed which I like.

Yep. Mine snapped just like that. Where the node was branching off like in your pic. Great job man. Beautiful plants. what nutes you using?

I'm on Gaia green 4 4 4 and 2 8 4 and some worm castings. Works really well haven't had a deficiency at all.

I got some others coming along from mephstio. 3x3 so really 2-3 is best for me. What size tent it that?

My last grow I had four plants but they were photo's and even canopy is awesome for sure. But this round I have one auto in the 3x3 and she about fills it out haha. Sorry for all the questions man lmao I'm just in gromie mode

Exactly. It was just too woody and I tried my luck going slow and gentle but that one branch I guess I just was just a bit rough. From now on from babies I will train them. I knew I should have I just wanted to let her be and do her thing but got an itch to experiment and see what I can do to get the most I could get from one big ass Auto

I'm running dry amendments from Dr Earth. I'm going to try just using the 4-6-3 formula for the entire grow this run. I usually switch to flower girl for bloom but after reading a couple articles on nutrients I figured I'd give this a try. I add Epsom salt and molasses throughout the grow. 1 gram of Epsom salt per gallon of water and 1 tbls molasses per gallon. I do the molasses the day after top dressing or every two weeks. I'm in a 5x5 tent now but I've been using 4 x4 for years. Auto's are fun but they're a little harder to train without stunting a plant. Gnome automatic seed company has some great autos as well as Magic Strains.

You say HST I’ve heard of people purposely cracking stems. Squeezing them until they crunch. I get worried with a little LST lol just takes a while to get used to I suppose.
