Auto Grew Bananas, Seems Early for Self Seed?

What up guys. Noticed these bananas poking out of my auto buds, I looked around online and I guess its the plant trying to self seed but that normally happens later?

The plant is like 62-63 days from seed(breeder says 60days), but I didn't think the buds looked mature, still a lot of white hairs and just beginning to swell recently, I though it had weeks to go still.

Anyway, I have 6 photos in the same room, and no desire to try to mature this auto anymore at the risk of spreading pollen or getting more dicks or bad flavor out of the rest of it. So I chopped and hung it.

Posting for input/advice on what to do next time I guess, hehe...

How big of pot is that I need to get some them air pots please how many day since you flip the lights to 12/12 this is the flowering time you can go by days or weeks but from seed don't help me usually when I've got seeds it was from not using a timer in veg if you don't do 24/7 veg you have to keep the 18 hours or whatever the same exact time you know another time I had a black out for like 15 minutes in the 3th week of flowering then I got then dam things again about 4th or 5th week flowering seeds the seeds will all be female but you get more hermie's if it's just a few seeds though it would worth a try ~

Hey there,

Your post is a bit hard to follow but lemme try to answer....

From what I have read online... This plant is not a hermie. There is a difference between self seeding and hermaphrodite. Self seed is sort of a last ditch effort by the plant to reproduce(by growing male pods on/in the female flowers). Had I let it continue to grow, I would have got "S1" seeds, which are genetic replicas of the mother. Or I could pollinate a female of the same strain and got regular feminized seeds.

I did have one or two times the whole grow where the MH/HPS went out for 15 min. The LED would stay on during this time tho.

All my pots are the 3gal air-pots.

Because this auto was grown with my photos, it was given the same light schedule as the photos, as I didn't want to risk leaking light out to the photos.

So -

  • From the start of germ, All of my plants grew about 2-3 weeks under T5.
  • Then put under 230w LED for about 1 week. At this time, this auto stayed under the LED, while the 6 photo plants went under a 400W MH.
  • The 400w is next to the LED and Autoflower, so it has been getting a lil of that MH/HPS too. At this point everything vegged for about 3 weeks at 18/6 (the auto obv does its thing).
  • Then put both lights on 12/12 for two more weeks, keeping the MH. After two weeks 12/12, I swapped the MH for the HPS bulb.
  • It was about two more weeks later that I saw these bananas poking out of the auto buds and chopped it.
