Autoflower Hijack Outdoor Grow

Hi everyone! I'm new to the community, and it already looks kickass!

So this year is my first official year of growing. I attempted last year but my attempts failed because of some critters. So this year I decided to try ordering a seed offline, and I must say I was extremely impressed in the process. The strain I chose was the hijack autoflower because I wanted a sativa that would finish before I go back to college in August.

Seed info-
An extremely high quality sativa dominant auto. Hijack brings together two of the most legendary and most loved strains of all time, Jack Herer and AK-47. Jack Herer (Sensi), widely considered the pinnacle in Sativa genetics, has been crossed with the 8 times cup winning AK-47 (Serious). Once we mastered this hybrid it was given the full autoflowering seeds treatment with the addition of a Siberian Ruderalis to produce a superb strain that is our highest yielder after Auto Pounder.
Hijack is an absolute must for all Sativa lovers, but the well balanced Indica genes from the AK-47 coupled with the speed of the Ruderalis mean it is not just a connoisseurs strain. Evenly balanced in structure, the stems produce multiple dense resin covered bud sites that exude a refreshing citrus-lime flavour with undertones of spice and sandlewood. The stone is an up۝ heady high mixed with an all round body buzz thanks to the AK-47. Hijack Automatic is ready in 70 days from seed to harvest, making it an outstanding option if you۪re after a Sativa dominant plant but don۪t want to wait all summer to get it. Unlike the Jack Herer parent this strain is considered very easy to grow.
Type: Sativa/Indica/Ruderalis
Height: 50cm-90cm
Harvest: 70-80 days from seed
Stone: Cerebral body buzz
THC: High

Pre Day1- friday may 30 at about 4pm
seed put in ziplock bag, paper towel wetted and folded. Some air blown into bag and sealed. Put in dark space.

Camoflaged 5 gal bucket with drainage holes -
Agway top soil
Agway cow manure
Potting soil with perlite and fert
Local black dirt
Pea gravel + Lava rocks
Fire ashes

Larger amounts of soil, smaller of nutrient based material

Solo cup-
Soil mixture
Agway Top soil
Potting soil

Pre Day2- May 31
Seed still germinating in bag
Slight tap root seen

Day1- June 1
seed root visible, Solo cup readied, took out large items in soil such as twigs and pine needles. Seed put into soil just below surface using pencil method and tweezers. Put under fluorescent 40 watt universal dlc Eco ace light. 4 foot long and only one bulb working. Cup about a foot away from bulb. 24/7 light cycle. Cool and not so humid. Objective is to leave seed for a couple of days until sprouting and then move outside. Left overnight.
Day2 - June 2
Checked seed, and repositioned dirt so seed is poking out of dirt. First hint of leaves appear, and root has grown down into dirt. Seed shell/husk is still on, needs to pop soon. Repositioned cup closer to light, brought cup outside into wind and sun for 10 minutes. Misted cup with water containing drop of lemon juice spray bottle about 3 times. Later in day seedling started to straighten up and lose curl. Seed should pop off soon and leaves are getting bigger. Left overnight.

Fencing idea for pests-
Add extra tomato cage to form hexagon and add more room.
Surround with burlap and tie down with jute.
Paint over burlap with camo paint.
Coat over burlap with spray sealant.

Day3- June 3
Checked seedling in morning and in afternoon. At about 9 pm moved seedling from down stairs under fluorescent bulb into closet under 1 single 13w cfl bulb. Bulb is close and is about 6 inches away from seedling. This was done to prevent stretching.
Day 4- June 4
Seedling checked, light left on all last night through today until 4pm. Light repositioned to be centered and closer to plant. Light left off from 5pm to 8:30pm. Turned back on all night. Plant is slightly bigger with first leaves and second rough pair are growing in.
Fencing put up at grow site. Used burlap all around hexagonal cage about 2 feet above ground. Supported with rocks and spray camo the burlap greenish. Sprayed over with clear coat to seal and waterproof. Dirt mixed up a bit.
Day 5- June 5
checked plant, getting bigger, the two rough leaves are getting bigger. Light has been left on and took co2 canister and leaked co2 into area for plant. Will see if it has an effect. Sprayed dirt with squirt bottle several times.
Day 6 - June 6
Checked plant multiple times, fixed light around and such. At 7:30 pm readjusted light in best spot, water with quarter shot glass, and misted with spray bottle a few times. Light has stayed on.
Plant is getting bigger, the two side leaves look good, they are getting bigger. The two first leaves have a weird curl to them, assumed from trying to get more light from the bulb. Hopefully they will straighten out. Light shut off at 10:45pm. Co2 leaked into area. Beginning of second set of rough leaves observed. Light turned on at 12pm.
Day 7-June 7
Checked seedling at 4pm. Cotyledons turning yellow on one slightly, think its heat stress. Took plant out, watered and moistened soil turned over a bit, groomed it. Misted also, but learned to not mist only if lights will be off. Co2 leaked onto plant. New light added also, one cfl 13 watt in cool white, more blue spectrum, vs the other light was soft white more red spectrum. Lifted both lights above plant to give more room and less heat. Also found a hand fan, might use it for plant or drying bud, haven't decided.
Day 8- June 8
Lights left on all night. At 3pm took seedling out and cut drainage holes in bottom. Shut lights off. Will give the seedling a dark break. Leaves drooping slightly, think its a heat issue
Lights left on until 11pm.
Day 9- cool light turned on at 4am.
Left on all day. No change seen except for second leaves getting bigger. Lights both turned on at 9:40pm. Plant repositioned for better light.
Day 10- June 10
Lights left on all day. At 4pm plant brought outside to get air and some cloud diffused sun. Put a little potting soil on top of old soil, a bit of ash, and some garden dirt that had small amounts of cow fertilizer, some pea gravel and put tin foil around edge of solo cup to reflect. Sprayed and misted plant in dark and let it dry. Set up closet a little different. Put fan in closet, but have to test to see if it helps or not. Both lights turned back on. Plants starting to smell a little, a bit lemony from the water too.
Small amount of molasses added into tiny bit of water fed to plant at 10pm.
Day 11 - June 11 left plant outside for a little while then put back under lights. More growth seen.
Day 12 - June 12 plant put outside for day, received rain. Lots of water today. Stayed outside for night.
Day 13- June 13
Plant transplanted into large bucket.
All very wet. Put rocks on top for drainage and reflection. Dirt was very moist in both. Location flooded so changed the location to under pine tree. May change it again. Need to scout for new location with lots of sun once plant gets bigger. Hopefully it isn't overwatered. It will take time for it to adjust from transplant shock.
Day 14- June 14
New grow site obtained near brook near large fallen tree.
Surrounded by nettles, ferns, obstacles, and water. Pot is surrounded by burlap fencing. Seedling is doing good, fed some water and molasses and little spray lemon. Worried about droopy leaves. Rocks in bucket mixed with top layer of soil for better aeration and soil fluffed a bit. Need to water for slugs, they are all around the new grow site. Recieved about 8 hours of direct sunlight, from 11am to 7pm.
Day 15- sunny day, plant had perked up and dirt on top drying out a bit.
Day 16- plant ununchecked, rainy day
Day 17- plant has slight yellow tint to first leaves, and cotelydons are yellow. Plant has received lots of rain but leaves have perked up.Growth seems slow but second set of leaves are coming in well.

If anyone has any guidance I'll gladly appreciate it! I hope to to get some good bud this August!

they are starving
probably root bound
and at this point in there life cycle should be about 6-8 inches tall atleast
not being rude but from my experience i would say just start new beans
if going into the ground plant in a 1 gal
if growing outdoors in a pot i would use atleast a 5 gal so it doesnt dry out totally between waterings

Nah man don't worry I take any tips! and right now its already in the 5 gal bucket, I didn't want it in that cup long. But I think It could be a combo of transplant shock, overwatering, but I have no clue. I thought the soil would be good. It's got rich stream bank black dirt, with pea gravel, topsoil with peatmoss and compost, a little cow manure fert, and some potting soil. The seedling is only two weeks old, about 5 inches tall but really close nodes.

Great dissertation, on the start of your grow. But from what I read you watered at least 6 more times than you needed to. Now that they're outdoors let em dry out a bit. Hopefully your location near a creek doesn't create an over saturated condition at the bottom of your bucket. One last comment - with a burlap screen (not sure if partial or full encirclement) ensure you have good ventilation near ground level, breezes over the top of the blind will reach about 1/2 way down the screen, but the bottom can get real stagnate, which won't help your cause. If this is the case maybe cut a few slits at ground level

I'm growing my 1st autos outdoors also, but they are a deck grow in buckets. They are 2 days ahead of yours. Best of luck on your grow.

Thank you! And yeah unfortunately all this rain has got me worried, I myself have not watered them, only about a cap full of water on a hot and sunny day. And that is a good thought about the enclosure, the netting is pretty vented, about pencil wide holes. But the whole area doesn't get a whole lot of breeze because of the surrounding vegetation. Possibly at night, but I don't know. I did think of setting the bucket on a flat rock to keep it up off the ground too, because the ground right next to the drain holes (dime sized) on the bottom sides of the bucket is moist due to being three feet from the stream. And thank you, I wish you luck on your grow! Hopefully it'll payoff haha!

News on the girl! So its been a couple of days now and she seems to be doing better. Grow is definitely seen, so I'm not sure it was from the concoction of water, molasses, lemon juice, and some water soluble nitrogen or its finally settled from transplant and is exploding. The lemons juice was added so the plant could absorb the nutrients. I check my ph and it was 7.8 so I dilute the lemon juice to help lower the ph. The yellowing seems to be disappearing slightly on the first set of leaves too. I also added some cow manure on top of the soil and some ashes to add nitrogen and potassium. The cow manure is 1-1-1. So its low strength and has been decomposed a bit too so it won't burn the plant.

Day 18- small growth is seen but plant is found to have slight nitrogen deficiency. Checked ph of soil and read 7.8
Day 19- water soluble nitrogen(diluted), molasses, lemon juice and water mixed and fed to plant. Flat rock is also put underneath bucket to help drainage and moisture issues.
Day 20- plant growth has exploded and is now doing very well, snails are found in bucket but no harm is done to plant.
Day 21- plant unchecked-
Day 22- plant unchecked- partially sunny/rainy very foggy
Day 23- plant checked, looking great and healthy, leaves are darker so plant is not starving and slight bite burn seen on tips of new leaves.
Day 24- plant check and snails were found to have bitten off part of the dirt leave and possibly parts of the new leaves. Growth is seen.
Day 25- plant unchecked-rainy day
Day 26- under layer of burlap is put on the ground to further attempt to stop snails from reaching plant. Also a layer of gravel to slow them and a copper tube coil surrounds plant as barricade. Gravel helps with drainage also. Growth is shooting up and plant is officially in vegetative stage. Seedling stage is over. This plant should be capable of auto pilot now, with me needing to fed, water, and manage when needed. Sprinkled some cow manure/topsoil mixture on top of soil so rain will wash nutrients down into soil. Very weak fertilizer.

7/2/13 I have checked on the plant today and it is doing great! The new set of leaves is healthy and doing good, despite the older ones dealing with snails, they are recovering and doing as good as they can. I have placed a copper tubbing coil around the base to stop snails, and an under layer of burlap to stop snails from coming up from the ground and it is working well. There are tons around the area. The plant is stretching a bit despite my efforts early on to stop that. But, I hear you can't help that with auto flowers. The stalk is thickening up quite nicely and the plant is now 1 foot to 1 1/2 feet tall guessing. I have also fed it about a tablespoon of fertilizer with molasses and lemon juice to adjust ph. It has been over a week since I last did this so I want to avoid burning any leaves this time. It has been raining a lot lately, about two weeks straight in the northeast.

PS. Pre flowering is starting in between the branch nodes.

7/3/13 I checked the plant today and it is doing good, no nut burn and growth is seen. Put more soil and cow manure on top of soil.

the leaves Pointed up is called praying for magnesium i didnt see this until just now otherwise i would of said somethin sooner

The leaves aren't pointing up at all, I've heard that's curling on the edges, but that could be something. How minor of a nutrient is magnesium?
