Autoflower outdoor

Florida Grower here.

We're approaching the 3 longest daylight months here. I was thinking about doing some outdoor autoflowers. Probably going to plant 2 seeds (fem), wait 3 weeks, plant 2, wait 3 weeks and plant 1. Anyone ever try outdoor autoflower? They'd receive about 7 hours of direct sunlight.

Sounds fun put them out. If u have room I would plant a couple more just in case u lose some.

im thinking of doing auto flwers myself , i live on the west coast of florida. tmpa i have 3 fem autoflowers . they are all lowryders crossed with something . i know one is deisel ryder

Yes. In my opinion, growing autos outdoors is their best advantage. I have a Low Girl that is about a month old (2 weeks inside, 2 weeks outside) and it just starting flowering this week. I also have a Buddha White Dwarf that is about 2 weeks old, and will probably be taking her outside within the next week.

They should do really well for you with 7 hours of direct sunlight, especially under that strong FL sun. I'd recommend, as with any outdoor grow, that you start them for at least a couple weeks indoors if possible. Survival rate is much higher.

This is just a trial run, and if it is successful, i'm going all out and doing a SOG.

In that case, I might plant 3 seeds indoor (184W cfl setup from previous grow), and after 3 weeks move them outdoor, while starting a new batch indoor, and repeat. I plan on trying to do a purpetual grow, since my girlfriend/her mom is an avid smoker, although I am not. Monday I'm going to make a bank deposit and get my seeds.

That's very similar to what I did since my room can only support about 4-5 plant and only for a few weeks. I started my first batch around mid April and took them out first week of May. A day before I knew I was going to take them out, I started to germ my next 4, which went out about 2 weeks ago. Then before I took the second batch out, I germed a single white dwarf I wanted to try out. So all total I have 9 plants going, two of which are autos. Working out pretty well. The oldest plant are about 7 weeks old and are about 3 feet tall.

To be honest, I'm not that big of a smoker anymore either. More or less just a hobby. Growing outdoors is great, but it's alot of work. I dig holes about 2'x2' and fill with my own soil. If you are growing outdoor I'd recommend you do the same for optimum results, unless you have unusually good soil where you are at. If you don't feel like digging, you can always use buckets, but they are a lot easier to spot. Most people I know use 5 gallon for regular plants, but for an auto you can probably get away with 3 gallon or maybe even 2 gallon pots.

What strains are you considering? I'm not sure if you ever ordered seeds before, but I ordered from Attitude twice and Nirvana once. They both came within 7-10 day without any problems. Attitude is actually having a sale running from June 4 to June 7 if you spend 20 pounds (like $30) they give you like 6 or 7 free feminized seeds. Also, if you use the coupon code 420 they will give you an additional 10% off. They had a similar special on 4/20 and I order from the pick and mix section just to spend the minimum amount and got 3 free seeds. Good luck.

When my girl moved in, they had a bigger septic system put in, so we have a big pile of shitty florida clay dirt in our back yard with some weeds/pine saplings growing in it. I planed on digging a hole a little smaller than a 2 gal pot and burying the pot in the dirt, with just the top exposed. (Gonna use FF OF soil) That way I can keep it out in the open, use my own soil, use the plans already there for cover, and they won't have to fight for root space!

I was considering Blue Mystic from Nirvana. If this first round of growth works, i'll probably order another 5 BM fem, 5 bubblicious fem, and 10 short ryder regular, and try to get a male, so I can stop shelling out for seeds, i'll just produce my own. this will be my grow space, waaaaaaaaaay back on my property. is it a good place to put 5 plants inconspicuously? as soon as the sun clears the tree, it has about 7 full hours.

That's a tough call to make man. It's always a risk planting on your own property. For me, it would depend on how remote I was and how well I could hide it. That plot does look sweet though. It's hard to tell from the pic, but depending how it is oriented and which way the sun moves in relation to that area, you might even be looking at more than 7 hours of light. Good luck.

This is a "north up" picture. Plant with be on the right side. As soon as the sun clears the trees to the right, it shines directly on the mound of dirt until like 7:30.

Im chopping a few of my autos this week that were started inside then set out a few weeks ago.These are NYCD autos and Ill chop them this week and Ive got more to be planted.These show you just how early you could harvest in the southern US

Outdoor plants look beautiful! This gives me hope! How long were they out for?

They were vegged inside and put outside about the last of april
