After recent legalization in my state I’d like to supply myself with 5 oz a month of the good stuff. I have at my disposal. A 4x10x8 insulated room detached from house. Plywood walls painted w/ kilz. 2 electric base board heaters, 18k btu portable single hose a/c. 8” exhaust fan. 2- 3” passive intakes. Plus air leaks around door. That’s already setup. W/ a spare 20 amp breaker on 4 plugs In the space. As far as equipment. I have plenty of parts to setup 12 plants in 5 gal soil pots or 12 plants in 10 gal dwc. I have 3- 1800w cob fixtures (6 bulb). 1- 315 cmh . 2- 1000w burples. 4- 50w 2ft led burples. 4” fan and 2x4x5 tent. Already setup for cloning. Also have about $1k extra. My states legal limit is 6 flowering/ 6 veg. I’d like to automate where I can leave unattended for 4-6 days at any given point. What’s my best setup for my space?

Go with the soil option. You are most of the way there and you can always move on to the more complex system later if you want. Soil is easy to get right straight away. Buckets would yield better, assuming it's done well, but its easier to mess up and get crap weed or no weed at all.

i would go with the same option, soil is great.
get yourself some soil amendments and your good to go.
chicken manure pellets, fish blood n bone meal and sewaeed meal. comfrey liquid and your all set for a soil grow.
amendments take time to break down in the soil, so a longer growing and flowering period are used to make the most of your amendments.
theres loads more amendments that others will share with you, and from personal use, so the info is sound. good luck n hapy growing

Yes soil and blumat watering system.
Leave for weeks if your brave.
If you can automate your environment that’s the biggest hurdle. just use the right controllers for the job.

With blumat you can fill a reservoir snd walk away. Better yet use a float valve to keep res full.

Automation is great! All the big commercial places use it. Can you imagine handling 500+ plants or more manually on a daily basis... would take for ever and be a pain in the a$$. It is definitely worth getting the good brands and not going cheap. You can check into egrowr, I have there setup and I like it alot. It's very versatile and expandable. Company seems to be on top of things. You will always have the people that say never do automated, its only automated until it's not... Yes equipment can fail and cause issues, I would still check in them daily. Biggest thing would be if a solenoid, relay or pump malfunctioned and caused a flood in your house. That's why I have a couple water leak sensors that stop everything if I get a leak. Other than that if something else would go wrong it would be something like overfeeding or underfeeding or adjusting the pH not within range. My system is online as well so I can see and adjust it from anywhere with wifi, I still check it all the time but really don't have to do anything but look at it to verify everything is working correctly.
