I install these systems for a living. They are used to extinguish server and IT rooms (so you don't put water on computer equipment). They use certain gasses to extinguish fires. There are various gasses and I am sure one of them will work in a setup like this. They are very expensive depending on the size of the room you are trying to extinguish. They are set off by smoke and heat detectors. 135 degrees for the heat detectors, and ANY presence of smoke for the smoke detector... Very sensitive.
