More light is (usually) better of course, but why not increase the amount of light hitting the plants for the 18hrs? Then its a win-win...more photosynthesis taking place for even longer!
It was probably just the plant showing maturity females normally preflower and display sex around the 3rd week anyway males can show almost a week before females from what I've seenI have 2 autos and 2 photoperiod plants growing, the autos are about 20 days old from sprout and I switched my lighting to 12/12 about a week ago, and the autos are throwing pistils too. Is this normal? I was under the impression changing the light cycle doesnt affect autos.
It was def flowering. They were only about 12 days old. Something triggered them.It was probably just the plant showing maturity females normally preflower and display sex around the 3rd week anyway males can show almost a week before females from what I've seen
