If I missed someone else posting this I apologize, but given the magnitude of the need for legal reform, & the fact marijuana seems to be a hot topic these days (young, old, sick, healthy, etc.), I can't believe no one is talking about it here.

Click on the MOST POPULAR questions asked so far, to the President. I went through the first 20 or so pages, or about the first 125 questions, and they are ALL about marijuana.

I pray, the President answers the question, which is essentially the same, when is the government going to do something about decriminalizing marijuana & switching it from a schedule 1 drug, & legalizing it.

You don't have to submit another question, simply go through & put a thumbs up vote on some of the ones already there, or go through like me & give the thumbs up to the first 125 :). Have YOUR voice heard!!!

maybe it's because most of us here have long since realized what a waste it is to petition our would-be masters for an easing of the controls they place upon our lives. we understand that it is only the voting public that can rid us of this nonsensical prohibition and pressing the matter with the powers that be will only bring us more platitudes at best. our government is only interested in answering questions that pertain to their own agendas and a repeal of this prohibition runs contrary to their desires for control.

control must be seized by the people, it will not be merely handed over by the powerful. we had a chance, here in california, to do something about it and we only proved that our own community is just as divided as the general population. a slim majority of us was too unwilling to compromise or too intent on their own bottom line to grasp the chance to place weed on an equal footing with legal intoxicants and force the federal government to address the matter openly. it would have been a great first strike that would have demanded our two-faced representatives frankly declare their intentions on the subject, but we faltered and must now wait for another election cycle to come around before we can put forward such a test case.

quite frankly, it seems rather a waste to keep emphasizing the obvious when the public's will is being so blatantly ignored. face it, the gilt is off the lily and even the most ardent supporters of this administration have to admit that its supposed openness and willingness to listen to the people are nothing but a sham. go ahead and write your letters and post your concerns to our deaf, dumb and blind leaders, but understand that it will only be the direct actions of the people that effect the outcome.

Did not watch the Q&A last night. Did this question make it onto the stage?

The problem we face, as I see it, is the billions of dollars that the prohibitionists receive every year to wage their war. The only thing that can get a politician to do the right thing anymore is the promise of money, power or both. They have no reason to legalize Marijuana...NONE. We managed to get "compassionate use" laws on the books, but even those are under attack. In California, we cannot get simple legalization measures passed. The growers, dealers and profiteers will fight it tooth and nail (not that I disagree with the logic behind their arguments).

I used to think that I would see legalization in my lifetime, but I am starting to doubt that. I will continue to be the activist that I am. I will continue to make my voice heard...but hope is something I have little of. Prohibition is BIG BUSINESS/INDUSTRY on both sides.

I'm not much for television, but it will be interesting to see how this will be dealt with, if a legalize pot question is the most popular.

Obama pretty blatantly blew people off last time this happened. Yes we can? Um guess again. If I were a political type there are only two guys I'd vote for President and neither would blow this question off, they would answer it straight up.

Ron Paul or Gary Johnson. The rest are blowhards.

Last year he brought it up, but brushed it off. I think he will address it this year...... with the California vote almost passing.

We'll see tomorrow when it is on youtube live.

He will just brush it off again this year, not the CHANGE we had hoped for. Isn't it obvious that most politicians could care less what the majority wants and are more concerned with their image and ability to run a successful campaign in the next election?

for the people that took the time to "check in", great. for those that say it is a waste of time, until we "do something or act", there are many ways to act. Anyway, I think when someone agrees to something like this (the youtube question/answer), it is going to be VERY hard to simply ignore the MOST popular question(s) without sending a clear message to we, the people. Guess we will see tomorrow.

I highly (pun) doubt that this will *ever* gain Obama's attention for more than 2 seconds. Why? He would be going against his appointment of Michelle Leonhart (now the head of the DEA) whom was a Bush-era holdover. :finger:

Did Obama get rid of her? NO. Could have he? YES. Does Leonhart openly oppose MMJ and all things Marijuana related? YES. Wake up people. Presidents are PUPPETS. The real power comes from CONGRESS. Unfortunately, most of them have an I.Q. of *maybe* 90,
like the senator who recently thought that the island of Guam "would capsize and sink" if we deployed any further military personnel there.

Want better representation? Then stop electing morons!

I agree it was disheartening when he confirmed Leonhart, however I am hoping he will address the issue AND clarify once again to her, what the scope of her job "should entail", etc. +rep for your input

2:30 est today live we will see
