I prefer old school bubble hash over BHO. I believe not only for the flavor, but the burn. I still have yet to pick up a blue flame rig to do dabs here though :-(

I've never had bubble hash, the pics I've seen of it look amazing tho, may have to get into manufacturing the stuff, it's the hash you get from using those micron screen bags in stages right?

Just ran sum bho this morning. Lately was having problems with shatter and harsh taste. The only thing I did different was slow the speed of the butane (I normally blast the shit until it pours out clean.) Most evaporates fairly quickly but by slowing it down it was happening seconds after hitting the dish. I never whipped my bho before and that may have had something to do with it but I didn't whip it this time either. put back on hot water for a bit till it bubbled golden. scrapped er up and am on the couch!!:eyesmoke:

What do you dudes prefer? I like bubble because of the clean process and easier to add to my rolling material. I only tried BHO once and it was just a few tokes which ripped me. Not sure if it was just that good or the chemicals used to process it had enhanced it????

The butane used does not enhance the resin, just more fully extracts it. Properly purged bho has no contaminants left in it, so the effect is all from the increased potency. improperly purged bho won't change the high, it will just fuck your throat up and make your lungs explode.

i prefer bho because I vaporize it and do dabs through a diffused water cooled piece. I love full melt bubble, it is just more work to produce and when I smoke too much my throat gets all gravely cause I combust it.

You doing large batches?? Cutting my fingers up with razor blades got old. A couple of years of scraping 20g+ of oil at a time was enough for me to switch. I do not miss scraping at all.
Depends what you determine as large but not really.. I went through about 2 ounces of trim today and my finger is a little sore like usual but oh so worth it lol..

Kind of pissed I got a little plant material in the final product but shit happens.. I've noticed I get a little plant material when I run trim so I gotta work on changing something. I definitely think my stuff is fully purged because there's no sound at all when it melts, the flavor is on point and it's shatter at room temp.

Anyways here's a little sample of what I made today.

I've always thought bubble tasted sort of plain. What I like best about it is the smoothness. I also have a soft spot for good old fashion screened hash (not so lung expanding and very flavorful). I usually run BHO becuase its is the most potent with the least impurities. I have also done one batch of the dry ice hash in bubble bags and the best of it was some of the best ever but I was not a fan of the lower grades (bho every drop is great). It did make some great hemp seed oil (almost made me fall head first into my trim bucket). If there was a way to only get the grade A out of the dry ice it would be my favorite (although it seems to degrade quicker).

I believe you need more filtration with less bud like input, do you use coffee filters? if so, use a lot more! i use 10+ coffee filters ":]

yup, i dont know what the bare minimum is for filters, but i like to over shoot it for purities sake...

i trim off as much excess filter as possible though, so there is only a few mm of filter material, i dont think im losing much..



AS for the impurities and little leaves, a lot of times, little plant matter collects onto my tube/hose clamp/shirt/gloves, etc, and that finds its way into my dish.. so even with a million filters, i still have casualties, but i like to pick them out once the matter is all oily, just before it chills at room temp..

i just sprayed right onto parchment! sooooo niceee, i dont have to scrape! anddd i dont lose any material in a corner of a dish..

i always thought about this.. just never pulled the trigger. yey! great idea, thanksss

im stoked about this, started last night, slowly got it to wax over night !! yaaa

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR COMMENTS ABOUT MY PROCESS, AND OR TIPS! Im always trying to figure out the best way.. please feel free to judge me, criticize me, applaud me, etc, I WOULD JUST LOVE FEEDBACK FROM SOME OGs, or you smart NEWBIES :P


the idea: (this is how i did it with Green Crack trim, and came out with about 18grams of extract)

16inch Long tube, 1.5in ID
4-5 oz of quality trim in (SMOKEABLE)
4 cans o butane
2 evenly packed tubes
sprayed straight onto parchment, lining my dish (saves sooooo much time and mess! and product!!!) -recently discovered this.. (last night)


evapped on heat pad til most liquid was gone, then evapped in my veg area where the temps are in upper 70s
(finally smoked)
once at room temp, and stable, i was able to put my parchment straight into the vacuum chamber! (i made one out of a huge cookie jar, this jar is made just for this expansion process)
Purged full vac till i got my foamy stable puff ball.

transferred product to a smaller final jar,
from here on out I:
Melt down product from foamy ball to oil at 10-15 HG, and @ 140 deg (heat is in hot water bath always).
once it reaches liquid form, i turn off heat completely, then-
i vac and de vac the product over and over till no more expansion happens..
at this point, the product looks like amber glass, this is the stage i want it to be at before wax..

while at this stage, i purged at 26 HG for 4 hours @110 degrees..
after that, i bumped up the temp to 130, and purged at full vac (29 HG) for the remainder of the time, 4 more hours or so.

and i woke up to this waxy Green Crack

I never tasted plain bubble hash bro. Bad batches you tried maybe?...... Every time I add it to my spliffs it enhances the buzz and causes me to start sweating on the forehead a bit and plus its always overpowering the buds flavor bongsmilie Great stuff wish I grew more to make more
