Hi all.
Yesterday before going to bed I noticed a very very small white worm fucking around in my propagators earth. I was concerned but at the time it was 4am I thought to myself id wait to the morning..
This morning I pulled back some of the dirt covering 1 of my seeds and gave it a full inspection without removing it. What I then saw made me want to FLIP! There was a white little worm like bug, Rice like in appearance but 1/10th the size.. Going in at out of my seed!!! I popped his little head with the tweezers, and inspected a 2nd seed. both had small white worms fucking with the seed.. Now In my mind. these 9 seeds are probably all infected. and will probably all die or fail miserably.
This is my first grow and if those lil babies dont even make it over the surface of the earth i will be very discouraged and disappointing..
I am thinking that the bugs got to my seeds in 1 of 3 ways. 1. the bugs had eggs laid in the soil i used "miracle grow seedling start mix?" I bought a fresh bag an i used the earth as soon as i opened the bag.. 2. the parent of this bug landed on my propagator and laid eggs all up in my bitch... 3. The seeds I got "Skunk xxx" from THSeeds where no good and had issues prior to buying.. Option 3 doesn't seem likely as all the 10 seeds looked dark in appearance and 7-10 were pretty large and all were hard. I used a wet paper towel method in between plates for 56 hours or so then planted them once the seedlings crack..
I have 2 questions really.. 1. is this treatable are the plants saveable? 2. what can be done in the future to prevent such things from happening in advance?
I heard cooking the soil 200-250 degree's will kill any bugs in the soil it will also kill the nutrients? If so what can be done to do it properly?
Also I heard fly traps can help..
Please help me, I have 25 Blueberry seeds on there way here from BC, and I will not even attempt to germinate until I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that i wont just be feeding a bunch of little nazi worms all day long.
