Baby buds turning brown before harvest

we are about to harvest in a couple weeks and then the smallest buds started to turn brown in the last couple days. initially we thought it was Bud Rot, but it isn’t affecting the biggest buds, just the smaller ones. we have stopped fertilizing and we’re just flushing it out before harvest but now this has happened and we aren’t sure if we should wait any longer.

Google russet mite symptoms and then compare with this picture of yours, its a textbook russet mite infestation.

You are kinda screwed this late in flower. I'd cut all the affected branches off and burn it or dispose of it far away from your property, at this point they are a loss. You can try to spray your plants with citric acid to keep them from spreading further. Also, Make sure you spray your the plants trunks down real well, 100% coverage. Russets usually like to start from the bottom of the plant and work their way up. Citric acid is real cheap but you want to kill those bastards now, before they keep spreading to your clean flowers, they will continue to feed even after harvest. Good luck.

Just remove all affected buds, and try not to touch anything else doing so. Brushing up against, nippers, trellis, by hand anything, or you will spread them even more. once your into flower past week 2 its a major loss and problem, as with any pest at that stage and onward.

How far are the big buds.... try harvest as early as possible before they eat up the real buds. They are maybe already in! They are tinier than thrips... you first see the damage... but they may eat on in curing!!!

In larger greenhouse grows, surgery is required sometimes to prevent further spread. If its bad enough on group of plants they get eliminated. After harvest, sterilize your grow area or you may get them again.
