Baby plants

hi i was just wondering if you guys could tell me how these are looking. i just threw a bunch of different seeds in a few pots. and have a regular old desk lamp on them that i turn off when i go to sleep and turn on when i wake up. it does however, have an energy saver bulb in it. i water them every now and then, every three days i'd say. just give me some feedback. OH YEAH they're about a week old now.

Looks alright but they are stretching for light badly and there should only be one plant per cup. Are you planning on transplanting them and adding more light?

You dont want the roots to start to entangle eachother

haha i might end up switching them out. i'm not too sure, you think they'll make it to the budding stage?

Definitely not if it is justa desk lamp. How many watts and is it CFL?

I have never grown in soil but i dont think those cups will be big enough to support the roots. But I would wait until someone with more knowledge on soil comes upon this thread.

its 60 watts hahah, and theres 6 cups total under the light. two cups have one plant in them, and the other four have numerous. ahha. and one i put in the microwave for 10 seconds everyday, and it seems the be the healthiest.

what the microwave dude are you fucking joking take the light you have throw it a way buy a hps ballast and bulb or take ur cfl and buy 12 more the exact same that should last you 4 weeks then you need more light

nah man, no joke. well kind of, i'm just letting them do their thing and was wondering if they looked healthy or not. thats all, i don't even smoke. its just for fun.

omg lol 1. there stretched 2. see pic below is a normal 1 week old plant 3. when they get older there just gonna keep getting skinnier and skinnier lol

dont throw them away..They need to be transplanted into at least on gallon pots, and make sure you fill the pot with full with soil..not like the cups. Then you need about 6 23W CFLs or you can get a 150W HPS for $32 delivered to your pad. You'll just have to rig a reflector, and cord for it.

If you want anything to come out of this grow, you'll have to use more than a desk lamp. You'll also have to have a regular lighting schedule for veg growth 24/0 or 18/6 light and dark cycles. If you use 18/6 it has to be complete un-interupted darkness.

hey thanks SmokeyMcSmokester. i'm probably going to do that, i'm going to go get some solo cups today and transplant all my plants, and as for now, i have a piece of cardboard covered in aluminum foil to use a reflector. thats going to have to do until i can get some more money. you know how college goes.

Try to get something other than foil ASAP. Foil is a terrible reflector, and it creates hot spots, and burns your plant. Use flat white paint, or get some mylar. If you have to use foil, make sure you have it dull side facing out...

yeah i have it dull side down! i actually just got in from my grocery store where i got a bunch of big tupper ware containers and some stronger light bulbs(i had just found another lamp in my apt) and some toothpicks too, just for support if its needed, and a spray bottle for watering; i've been readin thats more effecticive. i'm still going natural on the soil though. it seems to be working so far. i'll post some pictures of the updated station as soon as i can.

trading in old xbox games is amazing :) scored me 22 bucks for the upgrades :)


if you have anymore tips for the poor man, please throw them at me. =)
