Back inside, what to grow?

My girlfriend got me a sf1000, and cleared space in her workroom for a grow for Christmas!
Now I have to decide what to put in there before the light comes. Here are the options.

Blackberry Auto: This is a FastBuds seed (I think, Seedsman took them out of the original packaging for stealth and only wrote the strain on the bag). I have actually never had Blackberry. It's been on my list to try for a long time, but it's a looong list, lol. This would be my first auto, so I'm thinking controlled conditions might be a good idea.

Jack the Ripper: Maybe. I got these seeds from Pacific, and they don't seem to have a very good reputation on here. If it's not JtR, and has a longer flowering time, like Amnesia Haze or something, I'd be screwed for my outdoor grow next season. I want to grow one out indoors to see how long it takes to flower, and see if it has any of the strain characteristics.

Parvati Valley: Landrace. Reg seeds. No idea how it'll turn out, or what sex it will be. I have plenty of seeds from the same source, and I intend to breed them, so I will grow it out fully if it's a male. Because of that I will be growing them indoors only.

White Widow: Old but good strain. Family favourite.

So, those are my options. I have a couple of fast strains, which would be wasted on an indoor grow, a couple of sativa strains, which I would like to have some space for. I could also grow one of the other autos, but they're both supposed to be pretty stinky, and I don't want to have to deal with that yet. I only have one Blueberry seed left, and it's in my top three for strains, so I want to give it space to spread out. I can take a couple of clones later and reverse one to get some more seeds, but that's for later. My crosses will wait, as I haven't been able to replicate the apricot pheno my buddy was working on when he passed. Think I need to step back from that for now.

So, what do you think? I'll be happy growing any of these, but it'll be one plant at a time due to space limitations and the footprint of the light. I'm leaning towards the Blackberry due to the size of my space, 45x45x180cm (1.5"x1.5"x6" for Americans).

When everything has arrived and has been set up I'll start a journal and post a link here for anyone who's interested. Should be in a week or two.


Edit: LOL, that's 1.5'x1.5'x6'. Feet, not inches.

That's understandable for the Parvati Valley, I've only seen seeds for sale on a couple of sites. But I thought Blackberry and JtR were fairly well known. I've seen grow journals on here for them.

And you've never heard of White Widow?

Those strains are out of date. Whatever you think they were. Modern strains are much more plant in all regards.

If I remember correctly. All of the plants listed never broke 20% THC. Average 8%-15%.

I grew AK48.

Well, these are what I have seeds for. I chose them, mostly, on the recommendations of friends. I'm more concerned with the effects of the plants rather than the THC percentage. When I bought weed, I had GSC that had 11% THC and it was a stronger more pleasant high than the same strain grown by a different LP that had 18%. There's more to the high than THC, but I do remember higher percentages for JtR and White Widow.

Anyway, do you have an opinion on the strains listed?

No Sir. They're not my type of plants to grow. I go for a volley ball shaped plant that hits a net. Kept flat.

Lots of those older strains grow leggy. Topped or not. They just don't work for me to recommend.

Okay, thanks. I'll be using LST, maybe a little topping. I've always been able to keep leggy strains fairly compact. The JtR and Blackberry are both pretty compact from the images I've seen.
I'm thinking the Parvati will grow like the Hindu Kush landrace I grew, it has the same description. Tall, longer internodes, but still bushy. White Widow takes to training well, ime. I can keep her in check.

Look up 'DC seed exchange'. Brother, its not your strains I don't like. Its the THC%. I like the highs. The strong stuff. I don't smoke all day. Mostly to unwind in the afternoon. So I want punch.

White Widow would be an all day smoke. Something that's not to slap you down all at once.

Respect but those strains are Light Beer.

I would choose that one. Have plenty of hybrid buds in my jars but not something exotic.

This strain is trash. Really pretty but no punch. Its the type of weed that looks like it should cost 500$ an ounce, but leaves you wishing you had paid 500 for an ounce of mexican brick weed.

Parvati Valley would be my choice. I don't have that particular strain but I have a couple other landraces from the Himalayan region that are similar. I haven't had a chance to grow them out yet. Keep in mind that sativas like it can become a rather tall and lanky so flowering after a few weeks at most and some training will likely be required growing indoors.

You would probably be best off growing the tried and true White Widow. I is easier to grow and finishes much faster.

Strains don't go out of date. People just keep making new crosses. If all a grower cares about is THC level then they're missing out on some excellent strains.

Okay. So that's two for Parvati Valley. I'd like to grow something new, guess we'll find out how well they take to training.

I've got the shittyflute version of the star wars theme playing in the background, and my edibles are kicking in. This is a weird place.

This is why I like this place.

I use a bong.

Autos are great. The Blackberry got my vote.

I understand those that like the high THC strains. I used to consider THC first. But after growing many landrace strains from across the globe I've come to really appreciate the different tastes, smells, and effects they all bring to the table. There is something to be said for a tasty Ethiopian that gets you high and doesn't knock you out. There is also something to be said for a high THC strain when you want to be knocked out. In fact I have some ACE Golden Tiger popping up through the soil right now. It's been tested at 29.95% THC. I'm basically growing it for a couple of friends that are old gray haired stoners and have such a tolerance they need the strong stuff. But they have a pipe in their hand all day long so I wonder if they even get stoned anymore due to their tolerance.

Lately when I've wanted a couple knockout hits I've gone to the dry ice hash I make. I pressed these as xmas gifts for a few people I dropped off meals for on Christmas. It's very reminiscent of the Blonde Lebanese hash I used to get back in the 70's.
