Hi all. I want to buy some strains that are Feminized down the road but I am wondering if back crossing the F1 of it to the mom 2000+ times to make it almost 99.99% pure a bad thing and if so why's that?

well I want to make regular seeds from it also some people want the regular seed version of fem seeds.

Yes. People have strains out there are pure but they are fem seeds only or clones only and there aren't any regular seeds of them and to get close to perfect 2000/2001 times back crossed with the fem seed strain would only make it 99.95% pure

No I want to take a non feminized strain like Ice or Hash Plant or w/e and cross it with a Feminized strain then take the F1s and back cross it with the fem then take the F2s and do the same and so on.
The hole point is to take a Feminized strain and make it into regular seeds that is 99.99% pure
OK, so that sounds like a regular feminized seed batch at the beginning
there isn't really a feminized strain, just plants that were made feminized by use of the forced hermie pollen(usually CS)
back cross is a 'standard' technique, but i suspect the mileage will vary a lot by breeder
it could work well, but i would expect there would be a point where some number of back crosses will cause recessive traits to appear(often undesirable traits)

Yea but there are fem seeds that aren't regular seeds that you can buy so that's the whole point.
'i see' says the blind man, that makes your intentions clearer
this is an initial out cross, then back crossing to isolate the the traits/heritage you wish to preserve
there are probably some more informative posts on this, it has been done by others
i would say there would be no guarantee, it would probably become rather involved

I haven't seen anyone taking about doing a project like this.
if you mean using the feminized plant as the 'goal phnotype', that may be true
i was talking about using 'regular' plants
i don't know if starting with feminized changes things that much, the idea in both is to get some desirable set of traits
i have seen a few posts here and there which had this idea, not sure how far they went
some pro breeders have used feminized plants for breeding, i think more as experiments(saw a post or 2 on that)

The regular seed that I wanna use to cross with the fem strain is to make regular seeds but then back cross those with the Fem strain that I crossed with to get the mom's DNA into it as pure as possible.
i think this is possible, really depends on how badly you want those traits from the feminized stock
given enough time, and a large batch of seeds from the initial crossing, and the space/lighting to grow out the numbers needed
