I just started one of each of those. literally an hour ago. they will be going directly into 12/12.
Awesome! Let me know how they go. I was assuming they were reg seeds, so popped enough to cull males. The best 2 of each will be indoor and the other females will be outdoor.

They are regs. Just rolling the dice on male/female, have to wait and see what happens. Like i say going directly into 12/12, Just want to get a general idea of what these seeds will put out for flower before i do any big plants. I have a dozen of the Motor City beans.

Good luck. I am using these as my testers for a new system and first grow before using the ones I spent money for haha. I have 2 clones that will be ready for 12x12 so these may go directly into that also.
What kind of yield range do you expect with 12x12 straight from seed? I'll be using 16x Samsung Photo Boost strips (when they finally get here) for 640 watts

Not concerned with yield at all. Only interested in quality and bud structure. Ive seen some plants end up realllly small doing 12/12 from sprout.

I would prefer to focus on quality over quantity, with that said, is 12x12 from sprout better for focusing on quality rather than training plants to fill the space to max yield? Or just a matter of how often you want to harvest?
Talking for the future not just your test run.

The best quality will always come from doing a pheno hunt and keeping a mother of that plant. Thats hard to do for the average hobby grower like me though. Once you have a mother, the more clones you make, the faster you will get to flower. That being said, If you do a 5x5 tent with 9 clones it will really only save you a couple weeks of veg over doing a 5x5 with 4 clones. Less plants is better in my book. Personally I'm not into the whole pheno hunt and clone game. Much easier to just sprout feminized seeds and roll the dice on quality; any seeds from a good breeder should turn out pretty good.

I have about 50 seeds and plan to grow 2-3 at a time and clone each. After harvest, I'll keep the clone from the best one and grow it up against the next 2 beans until I have the pheno I want. Growing 4 or 5 plants at a time

Yup you can do it that way. I like massive variety (at least 10 strains) on hand so that method just doesnt work correctly for me. I would be keeping a plant alive to grow a clone of it once every year at best. Cant justify it.

I have Motor City Fighter going, along with a few Bad Dog Testers. They’ll be 3 weeks old on Saturday and are growing well. The Bad Dog testers already are stinky, when you stuck your nose to the new growth. Most likely will be topping everything in the next few days. They were extra I planned to throw outside, but that might have changed. Lol

Why don’t you clone it every time before switch to flower, and never have to keep a mother? That’s the best way to keep your favorite strains without keeping a mother plant, if your limited on numbers. Then your favorite strains/pheno will stay alive indefinitely. Although that’s not helpful if there’s 10 Strains/phenos you love and are not capable of growing 10 at once, by law or space.

So far all mine are growing well. Everything shot a root but a couple are struggling to pop up.

I see where you are going with that...I will have 3 grow chambers and that would save one, so clone, veg, flower room rather than having to veg and flower in the same one

I like to have at least 10 strains in jars on hand. Law does not allow that many plants. I would rather good variety of "damn good weed" than a couple strains of "the best weed"

That’s the way not to have to keep mother plants around and not lose your favorite strain/phenotype.

I can grow 12 and 12 right now. So I will be able to have options haha. If my wife gets her med card I can have 18 and 18

Yeah I can only have 12 which is fine because i can veg 4 for 2-2.5 months, move them to the big tent, flower them, and start 4 more in the small tent 6-7 weeks before I harvest the big tent. I can also keep a clone from each of the first four in case any of them turn out to be that FIRE.

I started in a rockwool dome and was planning to wait until I could see roots poking out to transfer to a heavy perlite/soil mix in solo cups. They will finish in hydro. Is that too long to wait in the dome? One stem looks soft and limp now.

I dont know anything about rockwool. I start my seeds in solo cups of roots organic original soil, works great for me.

That sounds close to my plan right now. 2 weeks seed/germ room, 2-4 veg and 8 flower.
