Bad genetics?

Good day fellow tokers. Sadly I reside in the common wealth of Pennsylvania and it seems that the only buds we get around here are brick from Mexico some occasional beasters from up north but it's usually around harvest time late October. Ok here's my situation 20,000 lumen grow closet started with 20 ended up with 0 everyone was a male big waste of a months veg time I can't seem to get my hands on any seed of any value. I am in the near stages of stopping my grow op an smoking weed all together...the weed here crumbs an smells like chocolate it's nasty an don't enjoy it at all but it's better then heroin so atleast I'm one step ahead ofthe game. Ha. Does anyone have any advice on aquiring a good strong strain remember Pennsylvania I can't just buy them online...thanks alot now go tear back some air mass an remember your spare wraps for there laughs

Just because you live in PA doesn't mean you can't buy online I know lots of people that buy from the attitude seedbank that live in the states. I've been doing what you've been doing, however, and just planting bag seeds. About 70% of mine have been female so far, so maybe I'm just lucky... but 0/20 sounds incredibly unlucky. Sorry bro!

If you're going to buy off the internet, buy from Barneys. They have some of the best strains for the best prices and I hear they give you lots of extras!

there are many sites that ship to everystate. just cause you dont live in a state where its "legal" doesnt mean you cant order..

there are so many strains to chose from! if you havent grown before start with something easy i would say. Northern Lights or something

Everything is in euro's you cnt just use a card with American currency to buy euro currency can you I wouldn't know never owned a card or tried to purchase outside the continental

there are certain factors that give you more males than females,first the higher the temp the more males, , low humidity, low growing medium moisture, also give u more males, i personally get about 75% females every time i start from seed. i personally like clones , and u could always clone for sex. cut clones of your plants and sex the clones, as for getting seeds i couldn't tell ya , sorry

I would say this is my 5th grow everyone unsuccessful first couple moms boyfriend destroyed last one had 72 plants 36 females in flowering rest vegging then electric got shut off well you know what happened. I enjoy the excitement of entering my grow room Every morning an catering to my babies needs. I treat them well I just need a strain that treats me equally. Any suggestions of respected seed banks that ship to my specific state. Thanks again guys

im not sure if your correct.

when seeds are produced either the XX or XY chromosome is locked into the seed. you can only tell the sex one you flower them.

environmental factors can effect the sex to some degree. but nothing can turn a "true female seed" (one with XX gene locked in, to a XY seed).

environmental factors can force a female to go into survival mode, and start producing male parts, female pollen sacks.
im pretty sure a male can do the same, it can hermie and start growing female parts, male pistils.

in short whatever gene is locked into your seed is what you'll get. usually its around a 50-50 ratio. out of the 6 plants ive ever grown indoor mine have been 100% female, i think im just lucky though.

You're correct TokeSmoker420. He must have been mistakenly describing a plant going into hermie because of stress.
