I havent used them myself but i know alot who do. The growth rate with the Leds are suppose to be great for less the wattage.

Whatever you do though dont buy from the hydro stores or any blurple/purple leds. The DIY led route is the way to go.

Try these sites for pre built leds if you dont want the hassle of putting together yourself.

why not use both? led + hps combined would be better than either alone. grab a led that's high in blue, if using cobs go 4000k or maybe even 5000k. they make great veg lights, but the combined spectrum would be more than the sum of it's parts. whatever is best for you. good luck!
