Actually, that 'Mission Accomplished' banner referred specifically to the mission of the Navy group arriving back at port. The Navy hung the banner, not the Administration. Meaning it had little if anything to to with the war, or Dubya; just that specific mission.

The Proggies used it, quite successfully, as an example of the myopia of the Bush Administration. Never mind that it was incorrect.

Misleading propaganda never hampered the Proggies.

All of you might as well wake up ... there is NO exit strategy. Obama has none. Bush had none. We are in Iraq for the duation, just like we are in South Korea, Germany, Japan .. and on, and on, and on. Oil production is concentrated in the Middle East. There is no way that Western countries can afford a take-over of the majority of the world's oil production by rouge states such as Iran.

For you libbies: You may hate Bush, but get it though you skulls ... your Messiah lied through his teeth to get your vote.

obama hasn't lied in my opinion. not at all.

i agree on Iraq, we will never leave completely. I could see us leaving Afghanistan if the Taliban is defeated. The next terror front might be Yemen. The Pakistani's assisted with the capture of Taliban leaders recently, but Pakistan is another terror front.

So now we are talking about the speech referring to the battle, and not the 'Mission Accomplished' banner?

Refute the fact that the Naval group returning to port requested the banner, not the Administration.

not talking about the mission accomplished banner. my point was about that idiot celebrating a victory in Iraq and the war still isn't over 7 years later. i don't care who put the banner up. somebody had to put the banner up. who cares who put the banner up. i don't care who put the banner up. get it? go refute yourself.

I'm no huge Bush fan ... but give the man his due. He was a leader. He made the tough calls. He traded popularity for keeping us safe (think Clinton).

He respected the military. He was a Commander in Chief. He was the right man at the right moment.

When the going gets tough ( 9/11 ), the tough get going ( Bush ).

Mission accomplished ... dang straight.

You are delusional..... the country is revising Bush's status upwards every day. In a few years he will rise past any recent Democrat President.... but that is unfair really....since they were all abysmal for the country.

I love how you just disregarded my ..."I'm no huge fan of Bush comment". You see...I'm in the middle....and you are NOT.
