Bagseed question

Thats not what i mean, if you pulll a seed out of some fire ass kush, youll grow some bomb,
youll never know genetics, but from what i know, when you only get 1, 2 seeds an entire half p
most likely there females or hermis, iv never gotten males, but i see what you are sayin there nothing
like seed bank seeds, bag seeds are no where proven genitics. my bad, i just ment all bagseeds arnt bull shit

The more I read about growing bag seed, the more I'm expecting to see seeds. I have to say this surprises me as I was always under the impression that female was female except in extremely rare cares that it herms on you.

I have grown alot of bag seed in past years,maybe I have been lucky but I only had a few that were hermies over the years,and the smoke was always good,lately though there hasnt been any good bag seed around to get a few seeds from so I finally broke down and orderd some seeds from the tude Im waiting on them and hope they get here soon Im starting to get low on smoke and dont want to buy street weed anymore due to the fact its only making some drug cartel richer,if we all grew our own we would put them fuckers out of business and stop the nonsence. peace

You are right on that all bagseeds are not bullshit but genetics are questionable.

Absolutely. I get stick for telling people to stick with quality genetics and throw bagseed outside but I stick by it for several reasons.

bagseeds can grow great weed..the weed the seed came from might not be that great..but the big mex field growers dont put much effort into their crop.no nutes most of the time...or not enough nutes.and they dont take the time to properly trim,harvest,dry and cure it.most of the time they just rip the buds right off the plant.. stripping it from the main stems.then who knows after that...can be buried,stored in a warehouse,left in random places and transported over hundreds of miles...most of the reg weed you get can be 5-6 years old.but the thing is the genetics of the seeds they used could have been great...just wasnt taken care of like a good indoor grow is.the only downside is not knowing what you got...makes it harder to tell what you will need for its grow...as in heat issues and nute issues...some can take more then others..so it helps to know what you need before growing...but check out some bagseed grows on here...some pretty dank shit.you can take the best named highest priced strain and still get shit weed if you dont grow it right..or let it get pollinated

also..cloning can improve the potency...get 2-3 generations into some clones and that bad bagseed just turn really good...start breeding..blah blah blah...got to remember...these breeders got their seed from somewhere and turned them into what they are today...it all started with random seeds

Just remember that growing bagseed can waste you 4 months. I think that is all anyone needs to know, particularly if you have spent any money on a decent set up as oppose to doing it pennniless. Bagseed usually means someone somewhere will end up smoking crap, respect the weed, bin the bagseed

Like I said tho 3lions, this is my very 1st grow (I need to put some pics up) and I wanted to gain some experience. I probably would have been just fine using quality seeds from the get go as I already have a fairly extensive background in plants/landscaping/irrigation, but you never know.

Not quite sure what point you are making here - seeds are produced when pollen meets a female. Not all growers get rid of males.

I do think with your general experience then its a shame because what you learn growing bagseed might not equate over to a quality strain. A lot of growing is no different to other plants in the sense that you give yourself goals and benchmarks so to speak, then you aim to improve those benchmarks. Doing it with bagseed, that usually implies that we don't know exactly what it is means you cannot do that. So yes you may grow the plant to its best but you have nothing to compare it to so you dont actually know if you grew it with brilliant green fingers or you actually grew it badly and it ended up with low potency.

Do you see my point? That is really my personal issue with it in most cases, I dont think that all bagseed will be crap. Also, at the same time I realise we aren't all methodical or have the desire to become experts or keep journals and haven't forked out much expense so free is logical and the ideal route.

These are looking ok at the moment, extremely bushy, I will backtrack and have a look at yer set up etc again.

In retail commission sales we call it luck of the draw....yes there are the occasional good seeds out there...but lets face it...what kind of real good weed is gonna come with mature finished seeds anyways? you could be trying to collect for months where i'm from we have reggie rabbit food crap...which u dont even wanna try....mid grade which is where i got all of my bagseeds...and then u have nugz, dro, chronic, kush, ww, theres different names for it everywhere...but around here if you get the high end stuff u may fint 2 seeds in a quarter and if ur lucky one of them might be mature.so in my humble oppinion, growing bagseed is like playing the roulette table at the casino...its possible to win but has the worst odds out of any game there. And real strains are like playin blackjack and knowing how to count cards....just dont get caught

i think any grower would agree that its all a big gamble with all the possibilities of ways to !@#$ up the grow whether it be a stupid mistake by the grower( cuz in my experience even the smallest mistakes can have severe repercussions) or equipment or power failure, and all the tons of other things that are out of our control...throw in the fact that im sure for a very large percentage of us here its also illegal...so the odds are against us from every angle...so all we can do is try to balance those odds in any way we can. never stop reading and learning, take great care, and don't be afraid to second guess or double check yourself. hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

i named my grow room serenity. because its a ship on one of my favorite t.v shows, the way i fell when im in there givin my girls some tlc, and also because of the serenity prayer. im not an addict or alcoholic or anything, i jus think trying to live by that prayer helps bring logic confidence and stability to anything u try to apply it to...like a tool....im not religious at all...when i say it i leave out god...lol....my little stoner tangent for the day...
