bagseed

anyone have good stories about ba bagseed they have grown? one you really loved any maybe cloned it to keep it going?

My first grow was from bagseed. The pot was every bit as good as anything I have ever grown, some of my friends say it was even better than some I've grown. Unfortunately, I knew nothing about cloning, re-vegging or much of anything else, so when I chopped, I lost the pheno.

i have a dank bagseed right now smells like skunk/kerasine and my first grow was bagseed, was very sweet and fruity and had a nice strong clean high that lasted like 2 1/2 hrs but didnt know about cloning yet

the problem with bagseed is that it's hit or miss. i'm growing 2 bagseed plants right now from the same sack and one looks great and the other is 5 weeks into flower and barely has any visible trichs. i will say this: you're better off with bagseed rather than shitty pollen chucker genetics. the results are similar but the bagseed is free. i rarely grow bagseed but i would say i'm satisfied with it about 50% of the time. it's not like i grow out the whole bag, either. i could have some gems still sitting in the bag.

i did the same thing 1 had barely any trichs and the other has more and is 4 weeks behind,from the same batch

I bought some purple schwag that was going around me to see if i could get some good seeds out of an 8th and i wound up with about 20-30 seeds. i got about 10 in veg and they are really nice looking sativa dom plants, a few indica's or they can be females and the rest males since they stretching like crazy. sometimes growing out a bagseed is just as interesting as something you pay overpriced seedbanks for and it teaches you a little about the behavior of cannabis plants.

I just harvested a bagseed plant a couple days ago. Was my first grow, I also have a couple going from a seedbank. The yield was low, mainly due to no veg time, but the high is great.

FYI, sometimes trich production can be deceiving. The Jack HererXViking I grew out from seed was a pitiful trich producer. Looked more like a dusting of powdered sugar than crystals. I called it my "Stupid" weed 'cuz it made me straight stupid!!! Funny thing, the clones of it produced a shitload of crystals. Huge sparklers, and the high was a lot clearer as well. Not as stupid. Just as high, but clearer headed.

great to see this thread.. i wanted to post new about bagseed that im growing.
i cutoff sample from her (week 5 flower) and the high was sativa high mind blowing... i liked it so much that i was about to ask how can i get seeds out of her ?
could i hermi her ? i know that sounds crazy but the high was unbelievable ....

i herd that hermie seeds tend to produce hermie plants but idk if it is true or not

You could harvest all but one bud and let it go until she throws nanners, or you could take some clones and reverse them with either STS or Colloidal Silver.

you could reveg it after harvest and then take clones. wading through herm seeds to find a keeper seems like more work.

i have bagseeds of the following strains. Super Platinum Bubba Kush, Tanger-Dream, Blackberry Kush and about 10 others i can not think of at this time. i have about 400-500 seeds ive collected over the past 10-20 years. some have germinated, some have not. i gave a handful of seeds to a friend and i don't know if he is shitty grower or what, but he claims they herm'd out on him. personally i have not seen a herm since 95'. the Blackberry Kush is a healthy mother. the Super Purple Platinum Bubba Kush is holding up way strong and i have identified a few different phenos, the Tanger-Dream is in veg still, so i will know soon how stable my seeds are. i am a firm believer in bagseeds. if you think about it, all the good strains we are smoking now are breed from bagseeds from 10-15 years ago. a lot of strains of genes from bagseed. i also trust the dude i get my herbs from. he is a very resourceful individual and has his hands in a few dispensaries. plus he knows the grower, i just am lucky that i know where my stuff is coming from 90% of the time. so when i find seeds, i can count on it being what it is. lately i have started buying genetics though. i have enough bagseeds and i have a breeders seed stash from his personal collection. another thing i lucked out on. i have some strains im growing now, that are not named, well they probably are, but i do not know what they are, the are mixed. one of the things about my buddy i can get into, but he didn't label his beans. so a lot of the ones i received from him are not labeled. it sucks, and i will just be using those to breed with once i hone my skills. if you have ever read Ed Rosenthals book The Big Book Of Buds, there are many strains that have no names or where just some bag seed crossed with some named strain to create a new named strain. the world of weed is so huge!! i heard someone say they wanted to grow every strain in the world before they died, well, its humanly impossible. im going off topic a little, but bagseeds rule!! if you do not know 100% what you are growing is what you have, at least you may have found a new pheno, and not even know it.

ive done this. i had a plant outside that flowered within the first week of life. so i brought it inside, and she went back into veg. shes in here 27th week now and loving life. in fact its the Blackberry Kush seed i found in a bag

having 300-400 seeds is insane haha i have about 20-30 bag seeds haha some that are nice looking reg seeds and some are from some real nice chronic
im saving the chronic ones for when i have excperience to grow them good
i only know one name and its sour desiel and i have about maybe 3 good fat seeds of that
the rest is reg and some dank i forgot the name to

its been around 45 degrees at night were i live and my bagseed have gone full purple in the last 4 days... its gotten way too cold to the point that i dont think they will make it through flowering.

thats not good...
can you not take it inside any put heat by it?
or if its inside you can get a little space heater i have one that is a fan or its a space heater has both things and it was like ten dollars

ive got clones indoors and everything outdoors. i have too many seeds to keep plants indoors and even if they die outdoors, i'll get some buds off them anyway. sucks though since i wont have so much room in the winter. whoever performs the best ill keep the clones of, the bad stuff ill kill off. i managed to find 2 keeper pheno's of the purple bagseed just from the few i managed to get as females 2 out of 6 are worth keeping in veg.
