Welcome, this is my second journal, here on RIU. I will begin this journal with seeds from Inkognyto Genetics, Shoreline Genetics, Brisco County Genetics, Greenpoint Seeds and Red Eyed Genetics in about a week or 2, once I get them.

Briscoe County Genetics: Orgy (Agent Orange x Goji Og)

CaliKush Farms: Sumo Tangie x White Og

Greenpoint Seeds: Snake Oil (Bio-Diesel x Stardawg)

Inkognyto Genetics: Mass Appeal (Chemtrails x Chemdawg 3 x Super Silver Haze

Shoreline Genetics: Texas Oil Plant (GG #4 x Texas Roadkill)

Red Eyed Genetics: Emerald City Cookies (Platinum Cookies x Locktite)

I'll be starting under T5's
I plan to sprout, veg, force sex, cull and veg some more, before placing under 4000 watts of De HPS, for flower.

They will be grown in Coco with a drip DTW, using General Hydroponics flora series in The Lucas formula, with a Cal/Mag supplement.

DAY 2
I can hear the crickets, actually we don't have crickets this far North, but nothing is happening, yet!

Cups of Coco with seed. Treated with H202 or Hydrogen Peroxide- seems that some RIUppers deny this simple fact, that these are actually one in the same. :o You know who you are. o_O

On a side note, I ended up fixing up my old cloning rig and am excited to take her for a spin.
Lights and bleach are hard on plastic pieces.
I have some keeper phenos that need to be cloned like yesterday.

I am following along...

You're off to a good start, plus Nice Seed collection.
Thank You for the kind words.

I've been back at this for a little over a year, after a 5 year hiatus from growing.
I feel like I've learned more in the past year than I did in all my previous years of growing.
I feel that we are all truly blessed to have such resources available to us, today.

So im fighting the scourge of damping off. I now have a fan blowing on the seedlings and have let the medium dry a bit after spraying with potassium bicarbonate.
Losses so far are
3/5 Texas Oil Plant
5/10 Snake Oil
2/10 White Sumo

No losses from Orgy or Mass Appeal.
I hope that is it on losses, since it's been 2 days since the last seedling fell over.
I'm also hoping some of the affected seedlings pull through since the tops have remained green on a few.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I've always had bad luck starting seedlings in coco. I always have strong seedlings with fox farm Ocean Forest.

I'd be willing to try it. Is it full of benificials?

A tablespoon of peroxide per gallon has served me well in the past, but I fought bud rot on my last crop so my area is probably teaming with spores.
Last crop humidity levels were 65% lights off and 55% lights on, it was our rainy season, but now my humidity is around 38% and dropping weekly as things continue to freeze dry.

I'm not sure about the beneficial but they make several soil mixes, one being specifically for sprouting seeds but I've found ocean forest to be the best. Then I put my clones in hydro or coco. Some people say ocean forest is too hot for seedlings but believe me they love it. I think what they use as a base which is soil from the redwood forest, is what makes it better than other mixes.

I wonder if using the peroxide in the Coco initially has something to do with the damping off.

For years I have always started seeds with tails in Coco that has been moistened with pH,d water and I can only recollect losing one seedling.
I always soak my seeds overnight in a little container with a little dab of peroxide. When tails pop, I then transfer them into the Coco.

Good stuff Amos. Expect some very terpy buds from those big almost black baked beans.
Checking my notes, they are [Banana OG x Kosher Kush] x [UW Purps x Locktite] - the other two cracked today. Anyone in here ran any? If so, detail, por favor.

On the damping off etc, I crack in paper towels, then into peat pellets. They go into McDonalds parfait cups with lids to hold in the moisture until they're about half inch out of the pellets. Then into cups of hydroton - no lids. I never use anything but tap water, and never lose a cracked bean. I make sure to keep the towels and peat very moist, but not wet.

This is Ript Genetics Bananna Hammock x Red Eyed Genetics Dogtrap.
This was an accidental chuck of mine. I had chose a Dogtrap male to selectively pollinate a few branches and i ended up fertilizing my entire garden. :x
I did grow a sample batch of the (Banana Og x Kosher Kush) x (UW Purp x Locktite) the results showed Dogtraps extraordinary terps mixed with the Og fuel. Structurally the plants resembled the Og side. The buds were hard medium sized nugs with lots of purple here and there. Not the yield of the Dogtrap and about on par with the Og. Potency was good with a few that were really good. They delivered a heavier than Og high, but not narcotic like the Dogtrap was.

For shits and giggles, I planted some of my chucks, a few days ago, in some miracle grow cactus mix, that was laying around. I figured I would get through this dilemma before I planted any more $$$ seed packs.
I didn't sterilize, but I did water with hydrogen peroxide and do have a small fan blowing over the seedlings. So far they've all popped and none have dropped over.
Maybe it's the coco retaining too much water?
