Ballast plug question

Hi guys, i have a question if you can help me out.

I have a 1000 watt ballast and looking to downgrade to the 600 watt setup. I want to know if it's possible to use the light socket that's used for the 1000 watt ballast and use it on my 600 watt ballast. (using 600 watt bulb of course)

I bought this light socket for the 1000 watt before and never used it and im wondering it this is universal for 600 watt or 1000 watt ballasts

thanks Rumblen! i've also read somewhere it's possible to use a 1000watt bulb for a 600 watt ballast with no problems. Is this true?

Or a better question, I have the 1000 watt air cooled hood. Is it possible I replace the 1000 watt bulb and put in 600 watt bulbs and plug it into my 600 watt ballast?
