Ballast wiring question

ok, im wireing a 250w ballast to 220v. the 220v wire im tapping into is for the dryer and has red,white,black, green wires. how do i wire the ballast to that, it dont have but one Com wire for that voltage

250 watt? just use the 120. save yourself some hassle

red and black are your hots: 110vac each. white is your neutral: that's your widowmaker. green is chassis ground or just ground. without seeing what you're trying to wire up, I'd say, don't fuck with it, unless your going for a Darwin award.

you have a lead labeled 220v or 240v. that goes to black.
you have a lead labled COM. that goes to red.
the bare wire, or wire labled GROUND or GND goes to green.

be carefull. use RED wirenuts. dont use electrical tape and twist the wires together like they were speaker wires, unless you want to burn your house down.

thanks man. all i need to know. i did add another breaker for just my lights only. one guy told me to tape the white wire off and dont use it ?
