I'm looking to buying my first HID light and am looking for a good 400 watt digital ballast. Is Lumatek any good

Go with an aquarium one. they are mostly all digital. very quiet and some of them are dual. As in a 1000 watt ballast can operate 2 400s or whatever you like up to the wattage limit. Also i find the casing to be always machines aluminum with these and very high quality. cost basically the same as high quality grow equipment if you want pics let me know.

i have a 1000 lumatek and love it... mine is the digital purple one.... no noise fast start ups... and best of all no problems.... had it almost 2 years now thats almost 10,000 hours... and it is a switchable ballast so MH for veg and HPS for flowering..... and do get a cooltube...wow best grow room thing i bought imo...

my aquarium one i think is lumatek. if 2 people in a row vouch for these you know its a good product. definately get the cooltube otherwise light lost because of distance. Mine has 2 400 mhs in it right now over my aquarium.

Then Lumatek it is I got good advice from a guy who has had good success with his lumatek and plus $330 shipped to my house with a reflector cords and a 400w hortilux HPS bulb

Can I use Hortilux bulbs with them I heard that they dont last as long in the digital ballasts what are you guys experience? Are all MH and HPS bulbs the same are there different types ex: growing, regluar light etc.....?

lumitek are purple... i forget the name of the green ones i'll search for it fo you and tell u what you have
