I'm in my second serious grow. In my first grow some of my buds popped bananas towards the very end of flowering (feminized seeds). This time I used almost all regular seeds. Went in the garden today and underneath some of the lower buds were bunches of male flowers. Some pollen released. Took those plants out ASAP. I'm only on the 31st day of flowering. It's a super soil grow. After this point everything has looked unbelievable. The temperature and humidity have been spot on. I have no idea why this is happening. The genetics are very reliable and high-end. Gonna keep the others and hope they weren't pollinated. I'll have to check them closely every day for male flowers too! Thoughts??

Bananas on buds late in flower usually means it's time to chop.
Bananas on lower growth mid-way through flower is usually a genetics thing. Some strains refuse to herm regardless of stress, and others will turn he/she if you look at them wrong.

Pollinated or just finishing. If you sprayed any oils on the they will brown early too.

I had a lot of hermies when I first started growing and I still get the ocasional banana. For me, it was because I was overfeeding. If your leaves look very dark green, it could be nitrogen toxicity. I noticed that caused a lot of hermies, feeding too much N in flowering is bad. Also, light leaks could be the problem. And some strains, even from very well known seedbanks, just go hermie no matter what you do.

Agree with above comment about fertilizer. But nutrient stress in general can trigger the reversal.
Too much or too little or an imbalance of nutrients stresses the plants.
Also heat stress from the lights is a big trigger.

Pick it off. A mist of water will help disable any pollen.
Late nanners often have weak or non viable pollen so I just pick them off strains that tend to grow them at the end.
Earlier in flower I still pick them off. But I look to my rooms environment and try to find the cause. If they come back continually or in bigger bunches or full male flowers appear I usually cull the plant so it doesn't seed my perpetual room.
Yes. Where are you in flowering. You can pluck it out now carefully with tweezers. Now that you have seen one your plant will probably start producing a lot more. If you are close to the end I would not worry about it.

Very carefully pull the banana off along with any others and you can manage to save your crop

Worst case on the the late ones you may have seeds and buds, but aleast your stocked for your next grow

They were put on 12/12 on July 24th. 2 are indica and 1 is sativa. So I'm close to the end with the indica but only mid way with the sativa.

I started thinking the same thing, I guess it's gonna depend how long they have left to transfer energy from making bud, to producing viable seeds

3 of my 10 plants have bananas. I have 7 indica and 3 sativa. 2 of the I indica and 1 sativa have bananas.
