Barneys Farm LSD & Humboldt Blue Dream. CMH Grow

I am kicking off a new journal for Barney's Farm LSD and Humboldt Blue Dream. Growing media will be Canna Coco with an artificial stack of Advanced Nutrients, House and Garden and Xtreme Gardening nutrients. I have been growing in water farms for many years consistently, but switching back to this style as I believe it is more efficient, natural and fun to do.

My water is 0 EC as its reverse osmosis, so cal mag is the only nutrient of my concern right now with LSD. The LSD is 6 or 7 days ahead of the Blue Dream which cracked this morning so has baggies over the pots to keep humidity high.

Lighting is CFL for seedlings, T5 for pre veg in a 0.8 x 0.8m x 1.8m tent and 315W CMH x 2 for Veg and Flower in a 2.4m x 1.2m x 2m tent. The big tent is currently occupied with a hydro Blackjack grow which I am journaling in another thread.

Here we go! You're sure busy these days
Yes mate, getting on with it now full force!

planning on popping some lsd beans soon myself, I am watching you. (meant to be a little creepy)lol
hahaha nice! LSD is such a good smoke and Iv grown a lot of strains, it is just one that continues to come back throughout the years without hesitation. I have not grown it in coco before so I am pretty excited for it too lol

Mind if I tag along.
I am running BF's LSD, 5 plants vertical, two stacked 315's in coco.
Beans sprouted on 10/1 in coco solos, transplanted yesterday 10/17 into 2 gallon SmartPots.
The 6 plants in the 2 gallon pots are the ones I will be selecting the best 5 for the vertical grow. Tried selecting the plant that appeared to be near the same phenotypes. The other plant in the two gallon pot along with the 4 still in solos are going to a group of vets. I started 11 seeds needing only 5, 10 have survived and doing well. 20171018_084701[1].jpg
Like what your doing!
Hope all our grows go well, you can check my journal in my sig.

Looking great mate and sounds like a solid setup. Having excess girls is never a bad thing, at least you can pick the 5 best girls out the bunch. Will check out your journal too. Will be interesting to see another LSD grow in conjunction.

Update on the seedlings:

All doing well really. They are on a light feed of around 0.3EC of Sensi Grow, CalMax and Superthrive, feeding every 2/3 days but will start to creep this up as paleness appears. Probably start to think about transplanting to bigger pots sometime next week too.

Good luck mate... Looking real tidy.

Seedlings had there 3rd feed yesterday and stuck to the same nutrients for now as does not seem to be lacking anything. There next feed I think I will be bumping up at least in calmag to around 3/4ml per gallon as coco does like to drain that as do the plants themselves or I will start seeing deficiency haha. Will post some pics tomorrow probably if a worthwhile update.

ITS,
They are looking good. What do you plan to use as your grow style, our setup are so similar, your tent is larger. Mine is only 4x4 sq ft. When so you plan on repotting and what are you going to use.
Need to make a correction, we are actually a few days ahead of you, looking at my pics I noticed that the plants sprouted on 9/29 not 10/1 as posted before, so as of today we are at 24 days since sprout.
On 10/17 we transplanted 6 of the 10 solos into 2 gallon coco Smart Pots and are getting great growth, have some roots already poking through the sides of the Smart Pots. We are running at 1.0 EC and 5.79 pH. Waiting until the pots are very light before watering and it takes about 40 hrs to take in around 6 cups of solution with around a 20% runoff, so they are drinking around 5 cups between waterings. That is good, I like that and each pot is accepting the same amount of solution and giving off the same, which means I got the coco in the pots at the same density. Good shit. I have in the past over packed the coco into the 2 gal pots and it really slowed growth, especially in the early stages.
The other 4 solos and 1 of the 2 gal will be given away this week to a group of vets, I give clones, seedlings and excess cannabis or oil if I have it to these guys and they really need and appreciate it.
Sorry the lights were on in this pic this morning, Wanted to show the color, doing light feedings and really liking the color. This pic was just prior to watering. Still hand water but will be setting up my drip system next week.

I will be keeping the 5 that appear to be the same phenotypes as far as growth behavior is concerned. So it looks like I will keep all the 2 gal except for the one in the center back, it is showing very sativa rapid like growth.
Let's keep in touch, going to send a friend request so we can follow each others grow.

Awesome mate, all sounds on top form and looking really promising. They do have a great colour, looking a touch hungry on a couple though, but you said your keeping the feed light.. Always the best way until solid root system is there. Im not quite so organised unfortunately haha I have a big flowering tent they will move into when my hydro/waterfarm/DWC grow is finished. That ones looking pretty decent actually, its Blackjack, do have another journal going for her too:

Back to the LSD and Blue Dream, here is some pics from this morning. Lights also on:

20171023_180919.jpg 20171023_180945.jpg

I have not used any medium like soil or coco on a indoor grow in about 9 or 10 years, so no doubt I will be making errors while I get back in the swing of things. Some interesting points in your post thanks for sharing the info!

In terms of transplanting. They look pretty well rooted now from looking at the bases.. I will transplant all 4 this week. Probably after the next feed and the coco has dried up a bit. The LSD being 5 or 6 days ahead though is pretty much ready for transplanting now I guess, but I will probably try to transplant all of them together to give the BD a chance to catch up.

Veg lighting is a 250W CFL and flower lighting is 315 phillips CMH per 1.2m squared, two lights. Iv only recently switched to CMH and really loving it compared to HPS, showing with the Blackjack for sure.

Was wondering the difference, I am only 6 days ahead of you, but I put these under my 315w for veg on the 16th, man when I did they exploded with growth, Prior to that I was using a 4 lamp T5 for veg.

One thing I have notice with coco is not to pack it down, firm it but don't pack it. I am amazed at the difference that makes. Oh and after root establishment do not let the coco dry out don't overwater but don't let it dry out.
You can find my coco grow in vertical growing, I have never done DWC, have done soil, Perlite Hempys, coco Hempys and then made the full conversion to Coco DTW and love it.

Yer that has pretty much been my tactic with watering tbh. Thanks for the tip of not packing so firm, I will try this when I transplant... Also, its quite difficult to over water coco it doesnt stay saturated as say soil, I find this particularly useful for measuring run off to make sure the PH and EC is where it should be after its entered the medium. This is my primary reason for going back to Coco being a hydroponic/aeroponic grower for years - Iv found the solution can jump around on you, so I just keep putting solution through till its where I want it to be. With decent roots it sucks up quick enough anyway.

I noticed some specs of calcium or mag deficiency on the LSD today so I have bumped the calmag to 4ml per gallon. I am using Reverse Osmosis water at 0EC so this provides the neccesary base, coco does rinse the cal/mag too. I will basically be keeping it on superthrive, sensi grow and calmax for the next 3 weeks. When goes to veg cycle Il shift the nutrients around a bit, mostly changing superthrive for some amino acids, roots exelerator and hygrozyme.

Ahhh I was wondering the difference too, that would be it the lighting haha Mine will go under CMH in about 3 weeks and start a 5/6 week intense "Veg" cycle before going to flower. Im keeping 2 as mums as Im kinda on a 4 plant limit.. Why Iv picked my genetics wisely. Blackjack will haev to last me! The aim will be 2 plants bit bigger than the blackjack with a 315w cmh each.

Got rid of the extra LSD's plants this weekend so I set up the other 5 to begin training for my vertical grow. placed plants around the fan and light, light just a few inches above the top of the plants. Then today cut the branches, off the back of the plant, that will be against the screen. Screens are ready to go, will go to Home depot tomorrow for a new tote to make my rez for my drip system.
Here the ladies are at 31 days since sprout. They are around 18 inches from the coco line.

They are huge lol looking good mate well done. Mine is have been a bit slow at transplanting as been busy but it's done. They have a very strong root system I can tell you that... they go under cmh in about 10 days and will take off more.

ITS,
What is your final pot size? They are looking healthy, I think they are ready to go under the 315 CMH now, just keep it a bit high for a bit till they get use to it.

Just changed my lighting setup, check out my journal when you have a chance.
