Barneys Farm Vs. Big Buddah Blue Cheese

I am planning on learning to grow blue cheese next grow. Has anyone here tried both and able to relay any differences? I've never used either breeder, so which one is recommended? Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Just curious as to which one would be the smart choice. Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I read a bit more on Attitude's site and it appears that Barneys' just used the Big Buddha Cheese and crossed it with a blueberry to make their own blue cheese. Is this an accurate description? If that's the case, I would think I would rather just go with the original (Big Buddha) and skip the Barneys' Farm unless theirs' is just crossed better or something. Can anyone help with any more insight? Is my take on the genetic crossing here accurate?

They both are great well known breeders the cheese is the same in both but the blueberry were probably from a different breeders! I went with big buddahs he is known for his cheese strains. I have had it once before notsure who it came from but was some of the best tasting/smelling smoke I have tried!! Definitely a must

I'm pretty happy with the buddha. It kinda smells like a stinky cheese when smelling from the jar, and when you break it up it smells VERY sweet and fruity. A very nice smoke. I don't have a good piece to smoke out of right now so I'm not real sure what the taste is like.... (metal pipe )

Oh, and the two seeds I grew were pretty much the same pheno, only one produced more.

Big Buddha .. just go light on the nutes, especially in flower, or you will microwave it.

i went with narneys bluecheese with my last harvest. i grew two feminized seeds and luckily i was able to get the best of both worlds. i had one that was blueberry dominant and the other was cheese dominant. I was really happy and satisfied with the grow smoke and scent. the cheese dominant didnt yield me much, it smelled string like rotten cheese and the taste was just the way it smelled, and it was very strong, while the blueberry dominant was a very good yielder, the smell was very fruity, and the taste wasnt bad at all a mix of both in a way, the high was very good, relaxing with body stone and lasted quite some time. i was really satisfied with barneys bluecheese, i reccomend it to anyone. oh and one more last thing they where very easy to grow and take care of.

Oh yeah? 1/2 strength? Any tips or secrets to growing this strain? I've heard "blues" are harder. This will only be my 2nd grow.

In veg you can feed about 3/4 strength max ... but either stop feeding them about 2 weeks before going to flower or flush the heck out of them before going to flower because even with a weaker ratio mix there can be a buildup and then even with about a 1/2 strength flowering mix the plants can end up with too much nutes.

I damn near killed one of my plants near the end of flower. I water/fed them and I had one last plant to water/fed and I mixed the water/nutes and before using it I got a phone call from someone I hadn't talked to in years and we talked forever. When I went back I forgot I had mixed in the nutes with the water and did it again, making it a full strength solution.

It was roughly 6:00 PM when I watered the plant and the next morning when I checked them the top of the one plant looked like it had been touching the 400-watt HID bulb for hours, or like someone held a blowtorch to it. It was totally fried, tannish/brown and crispy and a number of the leaves were well cooked too.

The rest looked great and happy and perky and did not have any problems ... but the one that received the full strength feeding looked like it had been struck by lightning or something.

Blueberry or anything with blueberry in it is nute sensitive. Some are worse than others and even phenotypes can be more or less sensitive. It's not something you want to force feed .... you want to feed them appetizers more than you want to feed them main courses.

Another thought that has occurred to me is that I am wondering if this strain has a lot of different pheno's as well? Is there a good blue cheese pheno that is more the couch-lock than the energetic side? Should be a good learning experience. I'm going to follow suggestions and master this strain 1st before I fool with others. I had just bought some blue cheese several months back and thought it was a great strain.

Mine were more indica leaning for sure. Both of my phenos were almost identical only one had a little better yield. Look, smell everything was the same.

Interesting. Should be fun to see what will happen. Wish I could order a 10-pack today.

I have a nice BF bluecheese mother that is indica dominant and very berry smelling/tasting. Good yeild and fat nugs.....
