No, not talking about the sludge. It's the leaf matter and buds that soak up butter...and if you don't squeeze that butter out...you are losing out on harvest. Lots of good butter there. I used to just use a piece of cheesecloth and wrapped all the material into a ball and squeezed the excess out. But to do that...you have to let it cool enough so you don't burn yourself. With the potato ricer...it has nice long handles to get good leverage. Designed 100 years ago and perfect for butter extration.I just use mesh strainer ive used coof filtrers too they tell me the sludge in the bottlom leave there dont strain im told that part is very potent --yur thoughts plzz
The sludge you refer to is not fat and so does not harden. Place newly formed cannabutter in freezer...remove it and wash any remaining sludge off under cold running water.
