Seriously considering hiring a grow consultant to come live with me during this difficult time....as long as they stay 2 metres from my baby
Don't hire anyone. Just come here for advice. You're already on your way. Just keep it up.

The more you grow the more you learn. These aren't difficult plants to grow anyways. So relax and be patient.

We're here for you man, but we can be smartass's sometimes, lol.

Hahaha, you don’t need a grow consultant bro! I am finishing up my first grow and while they can be finicky plants, they’re also not crazy crazy difficult to grow. As long as you’ve done your research and have the right environmental controls in place you’ll do just fine!

Here’s some pics of my first plants to set ya at ease (they’re not tall, but man are they bushy)

exactly the same thing I was saying! They’re finicky plants but if you’ve done your homework and have a basic understanding of the plants needs you’ll do just fine :-)

Awesome, that's all I needed. Expect more panicked posts in the future
We are here to help. :D

Just remember, almost any issue you can imagine has been covered here so if we aren't fast to respond to a call for help do use the search feature to see what information you can find on your own. Just reading through the journals here will teach you so much of what to and not to do. You will learn more than you might imagine by picking a topic and delving in during spare time, all the tangential information that you come across will just snowball the learning.

Happy growing and even happier partaking! bongsmilie

It looks nice and healthy. Just remember not to have any knee jerk reactions and you’ll be fine. Most of the issues you’ll see in forums like this are from new growers acting like “helicopter parents”. They freak out from any little spot the see on leaves or when their plant doesn’t look like a textbook example of cannabis. If you see any issues then don’t freak out...just do some research, or come here for help, and people will be more than happy to help you figure it out.
Just remember to give as much information as you can if you ask for help. People will be able to help you out much better if you always include the following information when you ask for help. So many new growers don’t know they need to include this so I’ve saved the questions as a note in my phone so I can easily paste it when they don’t include enough info

  • What medium are you growing in?
  • What is the size of your tent or growing area?
  • What are you running for lights (brand and mode help), and how close to the plants are they?
  • How often are you watering, how much, and at what pH?
  • What are you feeding, at what dosage, and how often?
  • What is the temperature and humidity in your growing area?
Good luck with your grow!

I've done alot of reading up, found it really enjoyable learning about something I'm passionate about. I did however learn too late that my soil is probably the worst kind of I could have used, by the time i stumbled across an article saying "never use slow release compost" my girl was already sprouting tiny additional leaves. Being that she's an auto and the fact I'm a novice I'm now reluctant to move her. Just going to let it go and hope for the best. She was at first a little yellow but diagnosed that as wet feet and shes been looking good after a few days of no watering. I'm still waiting on my digital ph Metre to be delivered but from what I can gather from lipmus paper its between 6 and 7 after using pH down. She's literally just growing between outside and my kitchen table over night. Probably getting about 16 hours of light, luckily the weather where am is pretty much perfect at the moment and she's responding really well to sunlight. I know its a really primitive grow but it's solo satisfying.
Thanks for all the feed back guys

So as of yet I have basically self taught my way through my grow, battling water retaining soil and fungus gnats on the way! I'm now in need of a little help, my soil is slow release compost and although I've began to flush the leaves aren't dying off. Pretty sure she still getting nutrients, need some.advice on how I can properly flush her in the soil I'm using? (I am fully aware I massively fucked up)

Why are you trying to flush it to the point of leaves dying off? Flushing before harvest does not remove nutrients or salts from the plants, if that is what you are trying to do. Once they are in the plants they aren't coming back out from flushing the soil.

Uh oh, get ready for another flush war. I just lost one this morning and had to deploy the plunger!

I have read online that you have to flush the plants with clean water before harvest to remove nutrients, is this not the case? I read that flushing causes leaves to yellow and die off?

It will help remove nutrients from the soil, not the plant, and it makes no difference in the end product. It can hurt your final yield if you stop feeding too early.

When you flush the nutrients from the soil the plant will start cannibalizing the fan leaves to provide the nutrients it needs for the flowers which will cause the leaves to yellow and die off. But, as I mentioned above, if you do this too early it will negatively affect your yield.
