Beau's Ultimate Guide To Guerilla Growing
My goal in writing this journal is to supply you with all the information needed to successfully start, secure, and harvest the best outdoor grow possible.
I will give you the names and show you pictures of great soils, nutrients, differences between male and female plants, germination methods, marijuana strains, growing mediums, places to grow and not to grow and much, much more. Also, I will be growing my plants with everything I recommended to show you that they are truly the best. I will also show you step by step and in great detail EVERYTHING I do and how I do it.
You will never be confused again when it comes to guerilla growing!!!
Alright, lets get started shall we?
1.SOIL
Soil is by far the most important thing when it comes to guerilla growing. If you plant in a $2 bag of soil, you're not going to get nearly the results you would get with a bag of $30 soil. DON'T BE CHEAP! Spend the money on a good soil; you wont regret it. Lucky for you, I already heavily researched the topic of soil and have narrowed it down to just two brands and products.
Product One:
Fox Farm Ocean Forest
Why choose this soil over all others?
Well, I think the description does it justice, as well as personal experience.
Ocean Forest Potting Soil combines the best fertilizers found on land with the finest sea ingredients available. The result is a rich, light, organic potting soil, ready to use right from the bag, that encourages healthy root growth, disease resistance, and leafy foliage. Consists of rich composted forest humus, sphagnum peat for aeration, bat guano, fish, crab, shrimp, and Norwegian kelp meals - and of course, Fox Farm's premium earthworm castings. There are even some oyster shells mixed in to insure a balanced pH. For planting in containers both indoors and out, tilling into gardens, filling raised beds, or top dressing established plants.
This is an overall great soil, IMO, because you don't need to add anything to it! That's a big plus.
WARNING!!!
Yes, this soil is wonderful; but it is so wonderful (pH strong), that it could burn your seedlings. So I would recommend starting your babies in a normal potting soil and transplanting right after the second set of leaves develop.
Product Two:
Roots Organic Formula 707
Why choose this soil over all others?
Again, I think the description does it justice. And I know many people who use this soil and will never use anything else again.
Formula 707 was created for a special kind of gardener: one who wants to control their own destiny. It is different from the other potting mixes created by Aurora Innovations. It was designed with greater water holding capacity, less perlite and pumice, and specific ingredients for large container gardening. In fact, the bag itself is a 30-gallon grow bag containing just less than 20 gallons of the finest quality potting mix. Made from only the finest ingredients, coarse peat, coco fiber, compost, perlite, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, fish bone meal, soybean meal, feather meal, kelp meal and much more.
This soil is great because you don't need to add anything extra, and you can sprout your plants in it with no worry!
2.NUTRIENTS
Now, I didn't really use nutrients during my first few grows; and once I did, I didn't see many differences. I couldn't tell if it was getting easier to grow because of the nutrients or because I had been growing for a while. A lot of people here on the forums say it makes a big difference, but I don't believe it does. Sure it helps, but is it worth the money.
For your sake, I have found some great organic and synthetic nutrients:
1. CANNA TERRA VEGA
Why choose this nutrient solution over all others?
I used it on my last grow and it worked wonderfully.
CANNA Terra nutrients are one-part nutrients for the growth and flowering stages.
They contain the right amounts of nutritional elements to fulfill the needs of the plants in each stage. The plants develop strong, vital shoots and a lush root development in the growing stage and full, dense fruits during flowering.
2. FOX FARM SOIL NUTRIENT TRIO
Why choose this nutrient solution over all others?
I used it two grows ago and it also worked well.
Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tiger Bloom The Right Juice for the Right Use! Our customers asked for a three-pack of their favorite liquid fertilizers, and here it is: one quart each Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom, together at last. Use them in sequence for brilliant blooms and luscious fruit all season long. Start with Grow Big for abundant green growth. Switch to Tiger Bloom at the first sign of bud set or flowering. Use Big Bloom throughout all growing cycles to heal root systems and increase nutrient cycling. Ideal for mature, late-season flowers and fruit.
3.SPECIES AND SEEDS
Picking the strain can very well determine the integrity, difficulty, yield, and success of your guerilla grow. There are three species of marijuana:
INDICA - Short, fat, compact plants who's bud produces a heavy, couchlock high.
SATIVA - Tall, skinny, airy plants that can reach 20 feet who's bud produces a social, laughing high.
REDURALIS - Not usually grown due to its lack of THC potency but commonly crossed with Indican and Sativa.
In general, Indica is grown indoors and Sativa is grown outdoors.
Indica is the optimum species for MY grow location. It's characteristics are exactly what I am looking for. In the end, it doesn't really matter what species you choose because you can top your plants if they are too tall. So the deciding factor for you should be the effects of the bud, and the taste.
A good marijuana seed is not too hard to find. You want a seed that is dark in color, has a tiger striped or turtle shell like pattern on it, and can pass a simple finger squeeze test. Here are two examples of some good looking seeds:
Bad seeds will be green, shriveled, and will break under the pinch of your fingers.
If you are purchasing seeds online, it is rare to stumble upon bad seeds. That is why you should buy from online sources. The only downside is the cost. Online seeds can be expensive! But IMO, its worth it.
Here are some good websites that I use, and that I know are safe:
1. ATTITUDE SEED BANK
URL: http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/
Explanation: Great seeds, great selection, great shipping.
2. NIRVANA SHOP
URL: http://www.nirvanashop.com/
Explanation: Awesome shipping methods, great selection, great prices.
Those are the only two sites I use and trust. There might be more, but I'll happy with these.
You could use bag seeds, but that is a very slippery slope. You could end up with infertile seeds or bad genes which, in tern, could ruin your whole grow! DON'T RISK IT!
I will get into the germination process once I start the grow!
4.DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MALE AND FEMALE PLANTS
Did you know that you can only smoke from the female plants?
Let's hope so...
MALE
Notice how the male plant has pollen sacks instead of hairs.
FEMALE
The female plant has hairs instead of pollen sacks.
