Cloud if you could give more details about the setup it would be easier to find a solutionsto the ventilation problem. I'm also new at this but willing to give any advice to pay back for all the help I have found off this website. Just a couple questions right of the top of my head would be how big of an area are you going to use? How many lights are going to be involved? and such...

Yeah, need more dteails. Venting out a window is kinda dumb.... You need to clean your air before dum[ing it. Venting out a window is just asking for people to smell....
For an area that big, you will need a good activated carbon filter to clean that air. Can you vent into your attick and through your bathroom fan duct? Can you tap into you dryer vent duct?
I like using my dryer vent because heat coming from there is normal....

thinking about doing 4 tables with 4x4 trays each under 400w maybe 600. differnt strain under each light. dont really have to close the room off because i never have guest so could i open the window and the room door for ventilation or do i have to buy some stuff like i see in alot of pics to pull air from outside. would a fan work in the window and let the door release old air to the rest of the house

You need to clean that air. As soon as you start growing your furnace will quit working or your water heater will bust or *something* so that you will need to have people enter your house. And even if you don't have visitors, you still open the door and accept packages, etc - a full-blown grow stinks to high heaven.

There is not many peolpe around my property so i dont really think the smell will hurt but i want to bring air in from the window and out into the rest of the house. thanx for the tips though mannurse. but i was just wondering was there a way to not have to buy vents and hoses. to me it looks like they are need more for stealthy room than my kind of setup. I am very new to this stuff so excuse me if my questions are wack but you wont know something if you dont ask.

You sound like you plan on putting some money into this, have you ever thought about adding co2 to remove the need for fresh air? Then use the advice above and put a carbon filter in the room to remove the smell.

didnt know co2 would remove the need for fresh air. I have thought about co2 though. heard it helps plants. so your saying if i use co2 and an ac i wouldnt need to vent

yeah, many people dont vent their grow rooms at all...for what you're trying id say get air coolable reflectors for your lights and then suplement with co2.....just seal your room up tight and only vent your lights...or the a/c will work too, they have some pretty sweet freestanding ones, but they can be pricey.
