i have had that before. it was terrible.
IPA’s are just a passing trend.
this stuff is what legends are made of. this is tonights selection.
it has some nice dark malty undertones with a stout like taste but a nice light clean crisp fresh ale finish.

I like it.

The good thing about beer is that there are plenty of options for everyone's tastes. I don't think it's a trend, at least here in the Portland area. IPA's have been popular for decades. What was a trend were all these newbie beer experts with too much money opening up brew pubs and serving Sours and Saison in wine glasses and charging $9 for less than 12 oz. The beer business is brutal and many didn't make it with the offerings they had. All I know is that the shelves are stocked with IPA's from all over the PNW and I'm extremely happy that there are so many choices.

I've never had that Boont Amber Ale but now I think my next one will be a good old Full Sail Amber Ale made in Hood River Oregon. :peace:

the shelves here in Central Cali are fully stocked with IPA’s. its like 90% of what is offered is IPA. and while tempting, due to their manipulatuve advertising, i stay away from the poisionous effects they afflict apon me.

i am extremely happy with the Boont Amber Ale from Fort Bragg that that i had yesterday.

It is from Boonville, not Ft Bragg. North Coast Brewery is in Ft Bragg, went there for my 50th birthday. They make Red Seal Ale and Old Stock ale, along with Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. They are all good in my opinion.

cHeers mate. I saw some North Coast Brewery beer that I was going to get. It was Boonville or that one. I have seen Red Seal Ale and need to try that one as well. :bigjoint:

That Rasputin is a damn good stout. It is expensive. A 4 pack sells for the same price as a six pack. At least last time I had it.

havent' tried the Lag 8 yet. the Lag 16 is my favorite by far of any. it's pricey around here $125 but i can mail order it for $80ish and even with shipping on a few bottles comes out way cheaper.

The 12 and 16 year old was unavailable, so the 8 will suffice for now at $97. I'll keep trying to get the 16. BTW - the Lagavulin was purchased because of your recommendation to someone else last July - doubtful it'll disappoint. What's the best way to consume it -straight, ice or a bit of water? It may be a bit hot at 48% ABV.

glad you chose it then!!! it will not disappoint i'm sure. i only drink single malts one way: a drop or 2 of water.

are you in the US? haskells.com or acespirits.com usually have the 8 and 16 in stock most times.
