on you tube there is a video called Mr. Green. he sets up a hydro system useing a 4 foot floresent and 400w HPS. first of all how well would the system work if i repoduced his system. secondly i have heard stories and read on here about the cops and electric bills. if i am planing on haveing 4 mature plants under the 400w HPS and 2 mothers with some clones under the floresent with a squiral fan would the elcetric bill be any consern of mine. Also with all this talk about heat seaking scanner fi this set up was picked up would it send out a red flag. thankyou for your answers sorry if this is a typical question

i don't know shit bout hydro, i'm an organic soil guy, but if you're smart you should never worry bout one 400 watt light! they don't put off that much heat..anyways, the feds have bigger fish to fry.

you can grow quality bud with a 400w hps. havent seen the vid, don't know crap about hydro. As long as you pay your bill...don't worry about it. and i wouldn't worry to much about the heat from the light either...

4 ... 100w light bulbs? LOL. Nah.

Increase of 20? (2000watt or dual 1000W and then you got optionals: pumps, fans, heating/cooling, etc) ... maybe? About 10 computers(150w for the base + 50w monitors).

Increase of 50? Hmmmm. 25 computers or so.... Do you run a small-medium sized business by chance? 5 1000w HID systems would seem reasonable then. Got a 5 bedroom house? :P

Useing a 400w HPS would i need to worry about police heat scaners or where i send the hot air (yea im a little parinoid) and would i need to worry about it being to hot since i will be growing in such a small area

you will need a fan in there so heat wont be a problem..
