Hey guys, Simply just wanna get my first grow popped off. I have made my grow box.
2 Fans running One intake and one out-take. Lined the inside and the cieling with Reflective material. But I am now trying to figure out away to get the lighting sorted. At the moment I have wired 3 regular hanging light fittings together.. Is this enough for one plant? I have 3 fittings, but which bulbs should I use if 3 is enough? I have been looking for 36W bulbs but local B&Q doesn't stock them.. Need quite a bit of help and I have Skype if you want me to show you the grow box and light fittings as so on.

I appreciate any help :) Thanks a lot.

I think people say 100 watts per plant, So 3 cfls will work to get to flowering stage. but to flower youll want some more lights.

what I have learned is the ammount of light depends on the size of the plant. CFL lights dont work very well past a few inches. so you need lights on top and on the sides of your plants. maybe like 4x 23watt 6500k bulbs and 1x 42watt 2700k ... this would be for the veg state. also the bigger your plant is you WILL need more bulbs.

I am a beginner but this is what Ive learned recently.

Nice rig btw, have you just connected the light fittings together?? And I may need to change my rig, looking at it, and I don't think a cardboard box will hold 6lights. Another question, say o get 6 fittings in the box, should I use 6 6700k for veg and change to 3000k when flowering? Thanks for the replies.

Many thanks to all those who replied. I just have a few questions. After researching many people have diifferent opinions on what soil to use, and fertilizer.. Could I ask, what features am I looking for in choosing the soil? And Fert? And how should fert be applied? and when?

Thanks for the help :)

A lot of people (from what I've read) use Miracle Grow Organic Mix potting soil. I personally used half potting soil half seed starter in mine so the soil is nice and spongy. (when you push your fingers down in the middle of the soil the whole surface should give a little, if the dirt buckles under your finger that's not ideal) Not sure about fertilizer/nutes

My lights came through today. Turns out he sent me the wrong Colour. give me 5400K instread of 2700K -.- Could I still use these for Veg for the moment??

EDIT: Just realised higher K is for Veg. Should I use these 5400K? Would they work? or do I need 6700K?? Thanks
