Beginner, when would you say the 1st day of veg begins...

Hey everyone,

I am in the throws of getting a journal together and just going through my pics I have taken.

This is my first grow and I am getting all that I am doing down in a journal to ensure I don't miss anything, if I haven't already....

Soooo, when do classify your seed as being in veg state, my two ickle girls came up from their pellets on the 1st of Oct and I then transplanted them to pots on the 3rd as the roots were growing quick.

Im thinking when they pop from the pellet, any ideas??......

imma say a week or 2 get their root system going

A seed emerges from the soil....is it in flower? No, so it must be in veg. There are only two options.

I say that its a seedling until its "hardened off" and can handle strong lighting.. what determines the length of that period is the intensity of light you start off with...outdoors they get sun from sprout so I call it in veg once its got 2 sets of leaves and the round seedling leaves are no longer doing anything really

I'd call it a seedling for the first 2 weeks, after that i'd say its vegging.

this is what i go by also myself.

Short Day Plants.
The day it sprouts on a vegetative light cycle.
Like Greenlikemoney said, there's only 2 things the seedling can be doing when it sprouts Veg or Flower. Depending on the light cycle.
