It wouldn't let me quote your post because it contains a URL :wall:. This link is very helpful tho, Thank you! The wedding sounds like it was loads of fun. I haven't been to Vegas yet but i'm not much of a drinker or gambler either haha.

I'm browsing nutrient lines to see which would be best for starters. I only want to get them to be pro-active for deficiencies and maybe for the flowering stages (I don't plan to use these if they're not needed)! Any suggestions? The two i'm considering so far is "Blue Planet Nutrients Farmer's Pride Organic Blend 3-Part Quart (32 oz bottles)" and "General Hydroponics General Organics Go Box".

Many ways to grow great weed.

I'm going to copy and paste a responce I gave last week to someone.

Q: You think that soil can take me all the way thru harvest want to avoid chemical nutes? I plan on veg for about 3-5 weeks since my space is only 5ft high.

My responce:

IDK!
I rarely have a plant that made it to harvest without being fed.
A super soil may go the distance but I'm not into having a soil super charged to carry it through. I like to feed every month and keep the soil microbes as happy as I can.
Depends on pot size also.
5 or 7 gallon would probably make it to harvest.
3 gallon for me usually needs some feeding.
1st feeding for me in a 3 gallon pot is usually at about 5 weeks.
I top dress at that point.
Worm castings and DTE Bio Live.
Or.
Worm Casting and FF Happy Frog 6-4-4.

Mine like N still in early flower, they lean on the sativa side. Some strains have different needs.

Not at any specific time but this is a small list of what I keep ready if needed during a grow.

Worm castings and a variety of balanced organic dry fertilizer mixes for a balanced feed.

Epsom salt for Mag def.
Blood Meal for a quick Nitrogen fix.
Bat Guano 0-5-0 if needed in mid flower for phosphorus.
Fish emulsion for another quick Nitrogen fix
GO Cal/mag+ if I need a quick Calcium boost.
Gypsum for Calcium but it is slow to release compared to Cal/mag.
Kelp Meal is always a safe addition.
I also use liquid seaweed extract on occassion.

A few other thing probably but I always finish the last 4 or 5 weeks of a grow water only whether they begin to fade or stay green I never fertilize past the 5th week of flower on a 9-11 week strain.
I don't worry about fade. If they are still green at harvest after 5 weeks of water only I'm fine with that.

This is super helpful, thank you 8-). Should I keep my expectations kinda low since this is my first grow? Under an ounce with lower quality buds?

The good news is you can have a small yield and still have high quality.
A conversation needs to be had regarding your light.
HLG QB 100 3k LED
Is that using 100 watts?
If it is, it will be OK for veg but not really enough for flower.
I think 260 watts or more from an efficient cob is needed for flowering otherwise the buds will be quite small.
I don't use LED, you might want to talk about it in the LED section or see if someone else chimes in.

Didn't really change my opinion just didn't want to type out explaining my view point. If your starting in let's say plastic Dixie cups that soil would be good with just water till you had to upgrade to 1 gal pots then the soil in that would be good till the next transplant into let's say 3 gallon smart pots and then you would be alright just watering till the last transplant into 5 or 7 gallon smart pots possibly getting away with just watering for 3-6 more weeks then supplementing with teas and other amendments when needed depending on how hungry the strain is. This is just my .02 on using just soil and has worked for me for my clones of gg#4 that will be going into the final pots in 3 days.

I feel like you're right. I want to get an LED that draws around 300w but they get expensive haha. I'm hoping I can produce an ounce of quality bud from one plant with this light. Ugh, I hope this quantum board is enough for both Veg. and Flower!

Also, how often should I water this freshly sprouted seed? The surface looks dry but is somewhat moist underneath. And I'm also having troubles lowering the temperature in my grow tent. I won't be getting more fans for another couple weeks or so..Any advice on this?

I agree and was thinking the same thing.
I recently switched to doing that. I start in solo cups go to one gallon and then 3 gallon. Once I get my perpetual running I might go from 1 gal to 5 gal and yes it does change the need to feed.
When I would grow a seedling in a 3 gallon I'd fertilize at about 5 or 6 weeks in but with potting up I don't feed until the plant spends several weeks in the new soil.
I'm always experimenting and my own opinion changes on things that I thought I understood about this plant lol.

Circulating the air is important and so is ventilating the room. Do you have a fan that removes the air from the tent and room?

Don't be afraid to let the pot dry some. Overwatering by watering to often is the biggest mistake most growers make.
Try to water the soil evenly and slowly.
Lift the pot to learn the weight. Put dry soil if you have any in another pot and lifting it will give you an idea.
Cheap moisture meters from home depot work well to test the soil deep into the pot.
Let it search for water and expand it's roots.
On the flip side a seedling has no roots yet and another big mistake would be to have the roots in extremely dry soil.
I could only guess when to water next but it would be a while if your in a 3 gallon pot and got it evenly watered.

I have a small desktop fan in there but its at ground level pointing up. I don't have an intake fan and exhaust fan yet but I uncovered all 3 window things on the bottom. I also left the circle exhaust fan port open at the top of the tent. Air seems to be moving nicely in there but it still gets to 90 degrees when completely zipped. Exhaust fan is the key but I can't afford it for another couple of weeks. Also, i'm glad you brought that up about the soil. I made sure all the soil in the solo cup was moist before I planted the seed but, when the cup got knocked over, I transplanted it into dry soil :wall:.. Not like super dry but the same moisture level as when it first comes out of the bag.

Freeze some water bottles and place inside away from your plant it should drop the temp a lil bit it'll raise RH but shouldn't hurt not being in flower stage. I did that next to my intake when we had a heatwave and it kept it down

I rigged up a ghetto intake fan with my small fan and an oatmeal tube thing haha. It seems to help but i'll keep an eye on it. She seems to be growing but I think she's having trouble shedding the shell and the little membrane. I can see it on the top, it's almost like a cap and it's preventing the two leaves from spreading.

She's opened up now! I did some research last night and I guess it's referred to as "Helmet Head". It happens when the sprout has a hard time shedding the membrane on its way up to the surface. She looked a little dry this morning so i felt the soil and it was dry about an inch or so into the surface. I watered around her under i saw some run off and then I stopped.

THIRPS.. I could just be paranoid but I feel like I saw one or two. They looked like white/transparent little worms that moved pretty quickly. I saw one scurry up the inside of my pot and back down. I can't figure out where they could have come from? Nothing i'm using comes from outdoor gardening equipment?IMG_0949.JPG

Keep an eye on it, buy some spinosad and use as directed, water your plant with a solution of it a couple times a week apart and it will kill thrips. Don’t do it yet, let your plant grow a bit first, but if you see them again have it on hand. Monterey Garden Spray or Capt. Jack’s Dead Bug Brew are popular, I like the Monterey product.

You are in good hands so far, good luck!
