Bending during flowering

I have two sativas (I'm guessing based on plant structure) and one of the main colas has grown past the light and I'm curious if bending the plant during the flowering stage will hinder bud development?

I personally don't think simply bending branches will hinder bud development. Even if it did slightly, it is still better than your other option of just letting it grow past the light.

I think it will have to be done slowly, LST'd into a ? shape over time by tying a string to the edge of the pot and a few nodes down from top and tightening daily.
The trouble is, old stem growth goes woody and is hard to train without snapping. I have to train my scrog grows every 2 days during veg, daily through stretch.
Can you remove the reflector from the light? Would that work?

Tie it down. At the point just below the main cola where it branches out tie it with some clothesline rope 1/8" and bend her over and tie it to container or a fixed object in the room.

I've tied and bent taller plants as late as 4-5 weeks with no negative effects.

I have had the same problem in the past. I used a wire coat hanger opened out with a bend at the top. I used it to bend over the plant 8" from the top, worked perfectly. I think it may have increased my yield too as it exposed more of the main cola to light :D

Nice. I do something similar with my bonsai but on a smaller scale. If you get the right guage wire you can twist it around the stem in a spiral then bend it as you want.
