Hello from the U.S....I just started bending my plant (Sativa), main reason was she is so tall 44", I couldn't let her get any bigger height wise, so I have bent her down to almost floor level....now, one thing I do see is that every bud now has light on it as opposed to when she was straight up, alot of the light was mainly half way up, not touching the bottome buds. I now have ALL buds getting light. You do this SLOWLY...bending your plant. Read a few threads with the title..LST. With a new plant I've heard that what you propose will work.

Check out my thread in sig. I am doing LST which I started to bend and shape the plants in the 4th week of veg. If you look in the pics, All of the bud sites turn toward the light, and instaed of my plants growing up (height restrictions) they will grow around the pot, then when I flower I will have many Cola's, not just one. Here's a link to LST in the FAQ: GROWFAQ

You can always do it, just bend slowly so you dont snap the stem. also if base stem moves to much from the bending tie it so it dont move when the plant is being bent, you dont want to disturb the roots.
