Beneficial Bacteria

I was told with Beneficial Bacteria I will not have to worry about my hydro reservoir temps or light leaking in is this true? Also if so what brand of Beneficial Bacteria should I get?

Who ever told you that is a douche bag. You still have to worry about lite leaks and if your reservoir is in a hot room then your temps will go up. Im not sure on a good company for hydro but super plant tonic, mykos, great white, myco madness. All good products

You still have to keep your temps in check though you get a little more tolerance for higher temps with less risk, and I'm not sure why you would have a setup with light leaks in the first place.

Breeding your own is much better and more economical than just using the products off-the-shelf.

It was my first grow I knew nothing about light leaks and res temps. But what I plan to do is have a fan blowing on top of the hydro and plants at the lowest setting to keep res cool and rapping foil tape around hydro to prevent light leaks.

I just assumed that since you were asking, you knew it could cause issues but were choosing to leave it and try to fight any of those issues as they came instead of just fixing it. I use foil tape on my dwc buckets, works great for both temps and light. Not sure the fan will do much, what are your air temps like?

My air is normally between 75-80 degrees

Youre right on the point where it may not be necessary, but youll probably want to have something to keep water temps down then. Blowing air across your system will do next to nothing if you dont have an immediate way to remove the heat. Thats why fans feel great but do nothing to actually lower room temps.

So ice bottles if you feel like dealing with it, or a chiller. Even with an external res outside the grow area in a cooler room, its tough to control water temps when your air temps are constantly fighting you. And without cooling or insulation, it doesnt take too long for water temps to match air temps, even with 100+gal capacity.

Im working with a 10 gallon Hydro but i only fill it half so really 5gallons. The seeds I have that im trying to grow in the hydro is Og Kush, Liberty Haze, Blue Hash, and Sour Diesel

I use aquashield in my dwc and keep res temps below 70 and have no problems.
