best dehumidifier for my grow

So i have a 5x2x7 closet grow with 3 plants in it
Lighting 2 warm spectrum 45 watt cfl's and 2 26 watt cold spectrum cfl's

I have an oscillating fan that i keep at plant level, and a regular fan that points in there general direction.

The lighting schedule is 19/5 and my humidity spikes to near 70 when the lights go out

Im currently in veg so i know the rh isnt a huge concern at the moment, but in just a couple weeks it will be.

My daytime temp stays between 81-84 and the humidity is 60-62

The night time temp is 73-75 with a humidity of 68ish.

Its about time to get a dehumidifier but because of my grow i almost feel limited.

What type of dehumidifier could i use for my size closet, that WONT increase my temp beyond my 84 (because 84 is my threshold) and at the same time will bring my humidity to 45-50%? My budget on the dehum is about $150. Ive looked at the eva-dry 1100 and the various spt mini thermo electric dehums because they dont give off heat, but i wasn't pleased with the reviews and the inconsistency people found in them. All opinions are welcome, as long as there logical

P.S. only opinions i dont want are those involving damprid or other afro engineered ways of lowering humidity

get a 300-400$ portable A/C. it will have dehumidifier, heater, and cooling. will normally cover a 12x12 area with several HID lights

$150-$200 budget

go to walmart pick one up. or go to rent a center and rent one like a broke ****er

ye your help isnt very useful at all, anyone can suggest go to wally world, i wanna know people who have EXPERIENCE with dehums and know which ones raise temps more then others, maybe higher quality thermo electric dehums that dont produce heat at all, if you dont know and you can only say wally world or air conditioner, id like someone elses opinion

they all do son, and they all need emptying. all the ones in your price range will suck. if you have a small space, then go to amazon and get a rechargable closet dehumidifiers. those dont produce heat, but good for small closets with limited air flow. quit being a jew and get something real if you want to grow good buds

Because the plants transpire about 99% of the water/nutrients, the amount of water/nutrient your plants recieve is approximately the amount that needs to be removed each day. For example 3 plants recieving 1/2 gallon each is 1.5 gallons total. 8 pints per gallon * 1.5 gallons is 12 pints. Assume the A/C handles 15% of the moisture in a typical 12/12 cycle (30% lights on, 0% lights off). Also, these numbers should be calculated at the peak of the plants growth or the final 2 weeks of flowering. Plan for the worst and you will have the right equipment under all circumstances.

Is there a way to keep the dehumidifier out of the room so i dont have to deal with the heat it creates?
Yes and no.

No - The heat a dehumidifier creates is a by product of condensation and electricity consumption. A more energy efficient dehumidifer will create less heat because it uses less energy.

Yes - A clever trick is to install the dehumidifier overhead or duct it into the top of grow room. Not only does this open floor space and valuable lumens for plants, heat rises and will stay above the plants, but humidity equalizes rapidly. Because warm air can hold more moisture than colder air, the dry heat above the plants will attract moisture. Air conditioners and dehumidifers also work better in warmer air. Long story short, the overhead installs of both air conditioner and dehumdifier will keep excessivley cold and hot air away from plants, but deliver cool dry air to them.

One note about the Eva-Dry 1100

This unit is rated for 8oz at 86F/60%rh, but your grow room is closer to 80F/60%rh. The Eva-Dry 100 unit will remove only 4-5oz in your grow room. In other words, there is about 2x the moisture in a room at 86F/80%rh vs. 80F/60%rh and the dehumidifier works 2x better. Most dehumidifiers in the US are rated at 80F/60% rh, but this is a European product and the European standard for rating a dehumidifier is 30C/80%rh or 86F/80%rh. Always look for the rating on a dehumidifier, before buying it. One large distributor in the Hydro industry uses this trick as well, but I won't name names.

Hey gucci. Just was reading up on this thread and made an account just to let you know what I ran into. I have a 10 000 btu ac unit outside of my tent and cabinet. Airflow in my tent is better then my cabinet so I'm running into humidity issues. This is also with the actual running 24 7 and I am emptying the reservoir for the ac twice a day. Roughly 4 to 5 litres in a 24 hour period. This is with only 3 plants in the cabinet and 3 in the tent. So I went and bought the smallest ivaton dehumidifier or whatever it is at 6 ounces a day. I thoughthink this would be great be a use it will be right inside the cabinet. Well it barely did jack shit. I emptied the small container 1 every 3 days it just didn't have enough power to do the job. So now I am going this purchase the highest ivaton machine e they have and instead of 6 ounce a day capacity (not reservoir size but capacity of dehumidifieING if that makes sense) at 24 ounce of water a day. So if this works great if not the I will need to invest in a full size machine. Because you cannot rely on just the ac unit because if you try to switch to dehumidifier option then you get no more cold air. So I will let you know how it goes

Don't go with the cheap models dehueys (oz instead of pints). I am sending back an ovation 20oz that did nothing for my 3x3. These are a waste of money. Check Craigslist for a used 30-70 pint model.
